NEW DVD:

De La Soul - Me Myself & I DVD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17480
With their clever, surrealistic lyrics, inventive use of sampling
and incorporating an eclectic mix of reggae, funk, jazz, fashion and
psychedelia into their sound, New York-based De La Soul are one of
the most original and influential hip hop groups of all time.
Rapping about peace and love rather than about sleaze and violence
like most of their considerably more hardcore rap contemporaries, De
La Soul come across as modern day hippies, an image which found
favor with alternative audiences. Hailed on their arrival on the
scene in 1989 as the future of hip hop, De La Soul were quickly
perceived as the leaders of a contingent of New York-based
alternative movement who dubbed themselves The Native Tongues Posse.
This movement for a while looked as if it was going to eclipse
hardcore hip hop in terms of popularity.

NEW GEAR:

Sa-Ra Creative Partners - Nuclear Evolution Logo - T-Shirts
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?artist=Sa-Ra+Creative+Partners
Brand new T-shirts from Ubiquity in promotion of the release of
Sa-Ra's upcoming album Nuclear Evolution! The faces image from the
album cover is featured on the front and comes in light blue with
album colors or simple black and white!

Afro Classics
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?artist=Afro+Classics&page=gear
Limited edition Afro Classics Tour T-Shirts! In various colors and
durable material, these are no joke. The scrawl of the words
"Pacific Atlantic Midwest Music Mavericks" is stenciled down the
front with a shaded nautical star symbol in the middle. And just
below the word "Maverick" reads: "afroclassics - (rap-fa-nat'ic)".
The back neck area features a small Afro Classics Coat of Arms
symbol. Super dope!

FEATURED ITEM OF THE WEEK:

Pseudo Slang - We'll Keep Looking CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17522
On Fat Beats Records, a few years removed from their hit single
"Broke & Copasetic," Buffalo crew Pseudo Slang finally drop their
debut full-length release. Jazzy beats from producer Tone Atlas
recall the sample-laden glory days of the early nineties, with lead
rapper Emcee Sick adding a uniquely dense wordplay that makes We'll
Keep Looking one of the more promising first-entries by a hip hop
group in a minute. Guest appearances by Grap Luva and Vinia Mojica.
I'm calling it right now...but this is quite possibly going to be
the sleeper hit of the summer and will be talked about throughout
the rest of the year! Word. For fans of Sound Providers for
comparison.

NEW RELEASES:

Alpha MC - Loving Life... CDR
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17568
Solo release previously only found at shows and such from Alpha MC
of Project Blowed's new skool collective Swim Team. Featuring
production from DJ Zo and Kuest.

Brwn Bflo - Brwn Bflo CD+DVD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17669
California natives SOMOS ONE (A.K.A Somos, S.O), Big Dan, Producer
Jacinto and MC/DJ Giant (A.K.A Oye) represent what they call the
"brown" side of hip hop in an industry that often only seems black
and white with no gray areas. The funk and hip hop collective tell
it like it is from the experience and struggles of the latino and
indigenous peoples of the world. Featuring a guest appearance by
Zion I and Bambu and comes with a DVD featuring three videos.

The Budos Band - The Budos Band 12" EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17477
Daptone Records proudly presents the Budos Band EP! A collection of
unreleased tracks recorded between Budos Band I and Budos Band II.
Only a couple of tracks were previously available on the seven inch
releases.

Busta Rhymes - Back On My B.S. 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=15808
Now on vinyl! As Busta Rhymes embarks on his eighth studio album
Back On My B.S. and his first release through Universal Motown
Records, Busta will once again prove that he is a formidable
centerpiece in music. As an iconic figure, Busta has demonstrated to
be viable and respectable mainstay amongst both diverse group peers
and elaborate fan-base. His undeniable talent coupled with upcoming
partnerships, demonstrate Busta Rhymes is a living legend in his
time. Featuring T-Pain, Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, Jamie Foxx, TI, Mary J.
Blige, Common, Akon and John Legend.

D-Sisive - Let The Children Die CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17500
After the passing of both of his parents, Toronto emcee D-Sisive,
took an understandably long hiatus after his debut EP. Consumed by
his emotions and depression, it was through his art and making music
that helped pull things back into focus. There's a little known
instrumental album out there by producer DJ Egadz that sums up the
feeling on this album best and that is that "Sad Music Makes Me
Happy." For fans of SoSo or the recently released AndrRomak.

Dash Eye - One Jah One Aim, One Destiny CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17671
One Aim Clothing and Tribe of Kings Sound presents One Jah, One Aim,
One Destiny! Hosted by Jah Cure and Tarrus Riley and mixed by San
Diego's very own and premier Reggae DJ Dash Eye! Featuring Dubs,
Riddims and raga rap by Warrior King, Alborosie, Collie Buddz, Glen
Washington, Sean Paul, Jah Mason, Ky-enie and much much more.

DJ Pablo77 - Disco Fried CDR/Funk Terra CDR
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17680
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17679
Thanks to a recent stop in San Diego over the weekend we were able
to pick up two exclusive mixes from Santa Fe DJ Pablo77 aka DJ A.
Dynamik! First up is Disco Fried, which as you can guess is
collection of rare disco and disco breaks, while Funk Terra compiles
rare Latin and South American funk! Some amazing stuff collected on
both cds and breaks you've probably never heard before...all mixed
continuously without tracks and using 100% vinyl! We've also got
restocks of two older mixes so be sure to check out Mixed Bag and
Refresh. Little known fact, the man is a friend of our very own DJ
Mada from Access and rolls with one of my favorite crews out of
Albuquerque, New Mexico...Manchromatic!

DL Incognito - A Captured Moment In Time CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17501
From the record label's summary: "They say Hip-Hop is dead. DL
Incognito who once said 'witness the resurrection', proves the
statement to be false and converts it to be almost humorous.
Listeners should count his continuous truthful deliverance and
strong love for music as a blessing. It's not every day that an
emcee is embedded with a passionate will to feed and save the
conscience of others. But then again, miracles do exist. Even though
DL Incognito delivers lyrics on the low (which is what his name
means), he sure is heard. His consistency as an artist has produced
exceptional albums. With his fourth solo record A Captured Moment in
Time, DL will once again validate that his microphone is not just a
technological device - it is his voice."

Dumbfoundead - Fun With Dumb CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17593
Next up this week from Swim Team, the brand new solo album from
Thirsty Fish member Dumbfoundead, leading the pack of this new
generation of Project Blowdians! Accompanied by DJ Zo with
production from D-Styles, Mike Gao, Soulspeak, Tokimonsta and more
as well as guest appearances by fellow Thirsty Fish member Open Mic
Eagle, Alpha MC, Abstract Rude, and Aceyalone to name just a few! I
think if there were ever a rapper from Toon Town (the cartoon city
from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) it would have to be Dumbfoundead.
With a diverse array of topics it all comes down to one thing...his
sense of humor, slapstick and very zany at times - but behind all
that is a quick witted intellectual who can freestyle like nobody's
business. Bonus tracks include mixtape style action including a
special take on Asher Roth's "College" and a live MC battle that
sounded more it could have been a lost excerpt from an episode of
HBO's Snaps and will have you in stitches! Yup, Snaps, and if you
remember that then don't pass this up!

J-Boogie's Dubtronic Science - Revolution 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17572
This one took us a while to finally get stocked but "Revolution" is
the second single off of J-Boogie's critically acclaimed Soul
Vibrations album. Featuring Bay Area Legend Lyrics Born of
Latryx/Quannum fame as well as up and coming female hip hop crew,
The Mamaz (Aima the Dreamer and Persia) complete with the
instrumental, acapella and DJ Vadim remixed version on the flip! GO!

The Jacka - Tear Gas CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17505
Third solo album from Bay Area's The Jacka featuring a host of
guests from coast to coast coupled with Jacka's unique production
and signature melodic flow to create a feel all his own with
appearances by Andre Nickatina and Mistah FAB.

King Most - Genius Music CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17678
Thanks to a recent stop at Access while in San Diego we were able to
pick up a few of these exclusives from the king of remixes himself,
DJ and producer King Most. Sixty plus minutes of selected b-sides,
album cuts, remixes and other lesser known tracks from larger than
life names in the business like Timbaland, Kanye West, and The
Neptunes. Featuring songs with TI, Jay Z, The Roots, Outkast, Q-Tip,
Ghostface and more! Maybe not your usual cup of tea...but these are
the ones that the radio stations don't play because they're not
poppy enough for the masses...and for that...hats off to the King
for compiling this.

LEGACY - Suicide Music CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=15360
It's been over four years since the release of his debut album, the
cult classic entitled Project Mayhem. During those years
L.E.G.A.C.Y. (Life Ends Gradually And Changes You) fed starving fans
with a slew of monstrous guest appearances, insane live performances
and album-worthy mixtapes. The obvious black sheep of the Hall of
Justus Music Group finally returns with his highly anticipated
sophomore release. The long awaited comeback has resulted in his
brand new masterpiece known as Suicide Music. It's a dark and
strange ride with cutting edge wordplay being backed by beats
created solely by underground superproducer Khrysis, who has worked
with everyone in the Justus League, rap legend Masta Ace, Jean Grae,
Heltah Skelta, among others. The fire fueled by the lead single "The
Greatest", which co-stars NC spoken word sensation Dasan Ahanu, is
the perfect invitation to a truly satisfying album. Featuring
Foreign Exchange frontman Phonte, Halls of Justus member Chaundon,
Mela Machinko and Bootcamp wordsmith Sean Price.

LVX Collective - 50.5.10 CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17617
LVX Collective is a collaborative effort between musician & producer
Dave Harrow and writer & vocalist Zen (aka Lord Zen aka Zen
r.el.z.m), who is one half of the duo Writers Block, a core member
of The Visionaries, and one of the most talented MCs in hip hop. LVX
Collective have been writing and recording in Los Angeles since 2006.

Major Lazer (Diplo) - Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17503
DJ/Producing duo Diplo and Switch gear up for their take on the
future of dancehall.

Malik Flavors (Madlib) - Ugly Beauty (re-issue) 12" EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=7312
Re-issue of this rare 2004 Madlib production! One of the four
fictitious characters of his jazz and funk experimental project
Yesterday's New Quintet, keyboardist Malik Flavors featuring moogs,
organs, fuzz bass, guitars and more, with minimal percussion so not
to come across overbearing. Madlib junkies...you know you need this
if you missed it before.

Mob Nasty - The Great Train Robbery CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17672
Out of Southern California comes A-Dawg and Tilt on their debut as
Mob Nasty for The Great Train Robbery. With an ear for the
underground, the group also delves into more current sounds
appealing to much larger audiences of hip hop. Witty wordplay and
beats to back it up.

Moka Only - Carrots and Eggs CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17499
Is there anything left to say? Moka Only must be a machine! With
multiple releases dropping every year, the Canadian emcee aims for
legendary status (if not achieved already) by releasing yet another
album. Not only does he now have almost too many to count but
they're all quality. Theme is meant to pertain to hip hop for Moka
Only as coming off natural and organic, and the packaging is made
from recycled materials. Smooth beats, Moka's signature mellow flow
and guest appearances from Bootie Brown of Pharcyde and Sadat X,
with light narration by Buck 65.

Mr. Brady - Left Overs CDR
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17692
Mr. Brady, recently known as a member of Deep Rooted, before that
from the Battle Axe roster, hooks up his fans with all the joints
that never made it onto actual albums over the years. We're waiting
for a complete track listing, but meanwhile just know that featured
on the tracks are Moka Only, Trek Life, Main Flow, LMNO, Mr Mr (Moka
Only & Mr Brady), Kas One, Medical, Hardware, Marquis, Deep Rooted
and Reverb. Brady says, "real raw shit. I mixed it myself at the
pad. So bang it loud, share it and enjoy!"

Nickodemus - Sun People CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17506
DJ and producer Nickodemus drops his sophomore effort, Sun People,
just in time for summer! This is a musical exploration into the
modern day sound of world music, funk and jazz from Latin American
to Reggae and dub and even African and Arabian! A serious mind trip
and a fusion of styles, each track offering something new. Featuring
Guinean born singer Ismael Kouyate, Quantic, Brazilian born singer
Liliana Araujo and more. It is intended to make you move on the
dance floor, but again this takes styles from all over the world and
mixes them all together, making for some very interesting and easy
listening material. Very cool!

Robust - You Ain't Cold CDR
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17629
Another exclusive and limited tour release from Galapagos4 emcee
Robust! This is what I believe to be the Chicago native's ode to all
things boom-bap and a throwback related to the street savvy hip hop
from the 90's. A lot of rappers over the years have claimed this as
inspiration for some of the concepts of their albums, but few people
actually come up with results like this!

Street Sweeper Social Club - Street Sweeper Social Club CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17520
Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine & Audioslave) and Boots Riley
(The Coup) have joined forces! Tom says, "It's revolutionary party
jams. It's got huge steamroller riffs combined with depth, charge,
funk, while Boots unloads clip after clip of incendiary rhymes rich
with satire and venom." Boots adds: "This is a time when the working
class is being fleeced left and right. More families will be
homeless and more people will be jobless. They'll need something to
listen to on their ipods while storming Wall Street."

Various Artists - Beat Dimensions vol.2 #1 12" EP/#2 12" EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17516
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17562
Rush Hour Records presents Beat Dimensions Volume Two! Compiled by
Cinnaman and Jay Scarlett and featuring soon to be known in a much
better light names including Danny Breaks, DJ Adlib, Mono/Poly,
Dizz1, Dimlite and more! Featuring a lot of Flying Lotus style beats
for comparison, with a little dubstep, but just think of a harder
version of both, raw and dirty but not alienating to the listener.
Basically, the headnod factor is through the roof! Broken up into
two EP's with a third on the way...HEAT!
