All have there moments, but my all time fav is "Southernplaysticcadalicmuzik," probably because that's when I got into them.

You should vote for it on the poll above...

That is very close to my #1, but falls just behind "Aquemini" IMO. They reached a nice balance of chemistry and innovation/experimentation here. Plus, it has my favorite cuts... Return of the 'G', Skew it on the Bar-B, Aquemini, Slump (my favorite Kast song ever), & Da Art of Storytellin' (Part 1). The whole thing is flawless though.

ATLiens will always be my favorite kast cd just based on the fact that it got me hooked to rap / hip-hop. Doesn't hurt either when the entire album is stellar front to back.

I was a freshman in highschool when it came out (96), before that I had only listened to hip-hop here and there.

I live in RI, the music scene here is fucking horrendously bad. I have always had to experiment with other types of music myself.

Be nice if there were people in my area to talk to about music - if it wasn't for message boards/forums I wouldn't of found half of the shit I listen to.

-Aquemini is a very close 2nd tho.

I remember when the singles from ATliens were in heavy rotation on "urban" radio...they were a breath of fresh air. Around that time, a friend bought the tape and we listened to it while driving to spots to skate. I liked it a lot back then but never bought the album. A few weeks ago I got the cd and I cannot believe how good the album sounds today. On these hip hop message boards you always see people praise their first album (which I also got recently) but I think ATliens is superior. I've not heard all the others, though I did like the songs I've heard off them. I'm going to listen to Aquemini on my commute tomorrow and I just ordered the two subsequent albums.

I always see mad love for ATLiens. It always seems to be in the lead. They stepped up their production value a bit from their debut, and I know many fans feel it was the last album before Big Boi & Andre starting separating in the chemistry department. I personally don't see that a bit until Stankonia. I felt Aquemini reached that perfect balance of chemistry and inventive experimentation. Then when Stankonia hit, they started separating lyrically/artistically despite neck-snapping production. I know some say Andre 3000 was just blinded by Erykah Badu's box, cause Big Boi always stayed consistent with his look and artistic style.

Either way, the first 4 albums by Outkast are 5-star classics IMO. It's what make them one of the GOAT's.

So who's everyone's favorite member? Big Boi or Andre? Personally I gotta go with Big Boi!

Personally I like Southerplayalistic more than ATLiens because of the singles/standouts. The debut always had the most classic singles IMO.......not to say ATLiens didn't have classic singles.

there is a reason for this.....it's one of the best albums of all time imo.

Not to mention that at the time it came out it destroyed everything else and it still holds up extremely well today.

But just like you said, the first four Outkast cd's are all 5 star classics.

No clowning here. That is definitely a personal classic to me as well. The album does have ridiculously dope production and easily some of their best singles/standouts.

Southernplayalisticadillacmusik!! I can see why most choose ATLiens, that ish was ahead of its time when it came out. But "Southern" " " " " " "musik" came out in 94'! Need I say more about that year. Just another reason why 94' was prob. the best year for hip hop.

I agree. Even though I chose Aquemini, Southerplayalistic is my #2.
