If it's like a Grouch cd or a Murs cd or Eligh or someone who I know will come tight then I just buy the cd right away. But sometimes I download a track or two and then I decide if it's worth buying. I would never download a whole cd or anything. That's pretty fucked up.
i buy most of my shit. last album i bought was the blue collar. but if its an old album that's not in stock i grab it online. it all depends.

i ordered it from hiphopsite.com before their first shippment sold out, amoeba/basement will have it by the end of the week, if you live in la
scottee pimpn,
if you live in LA, i'm sure you can get it. try ameoba or fat beats. just got to call around. they might even have it at tower records. if you lived in a small town in rhode island you most hafta only depend on the internet. its all good. i remember those years when i was a teenager. lol

i only burn mixed cd's once in awhile. if i really like an album i'm gonna go buy that shit legit. its always better quality. isn't it? i mean, i've always found that mp3's sound shitty and are recorded at different levels which makes it hard to put an entire album together that sounds smooth.
naw, you can d/l songs in cd quality. if someone rips a track atleast at 192kps quality to an mp3 file, it will sound cd quality. that's usually the standard when someone rips a track onto the internet.

it was thanks to the net that i even heard of living legends...got hooked after downloading a couple tracks, and due to lack of resources (NOWHERE in england stocks legends shit) downloading was my only way of gettin hold of it, then i found out about here n started ordering cd's..been supportin the cause ever since. I think its much more important to support underground artists than mainstream...for obvious reasons, main one being they unsigned n hella broke..:)

if I cant get my hands on it to buy it I'll burn a copy till I can get my hands on it, then I'll buy it. I like supporting an artist that I enjoy, cause I'd like to see them do more. These fools arent on million dollar recording contracts.
mainstream music that I do listen to, I have no problems with just a burnt cd. I dont feel like I need to contribute my hard earned money for someone to buy new rims, or put gold in their mouth.

i got most of them for free-- except gandalf's beat machine 2-- now that's a keeper.
or I listen to my friends' bought cds. I've never burned a cd for myself. I bought my first mystik journeymen tape (children ov the night) without ever hearing their shit. it was by word-of-mouth (surprisingly an article in URB back when URB just started out as a free mag). i admit a lot of my early Legends shit was free because of the hook ups I had.. but after i got hooked, i just buy. If given the opportunity, i'd probably burn or download some shit that i did buy but was lost, ruined, stolen, or borrowed without being returned. i would, but i haven't yet..
i always had burned copies of legend stuff until i found a place in l.a. to get it and when they were short, i found the site... everything i had as a copy, i now have purchased from here.
no matter how big/small the artist is - if i like there music and i have a copy/mp3's of the entire album i will still go and buy it. I like having the real thing (the art, thanks, who produced it) i also like reading about the artists... my 2 cents...

i do both equally. but when it comes to living legends, if the cd is available and not out of print, i buy it. its important to support indy artists.

When I first discovered Napster I was hooked on downloads, when I got a burner I was even more obsessed. But just recently I've realized that is so much better for everyone when you just buy the CD.
I mean, the quality is often better, the artist gets respect, and the record store profits too.
I wish I had more money to actually buy every CD I want.
