I have seen a lot of talk on the hoopla about missed release dates, waiting forever for albums and my most hated action: "Over-promising" and "Under-delivering." While I agree with MOST of what our fans are saying I must add that we are perfectionists with our music and do not want to just throw out material so that we can have something out. I personally believe that this is the main problem with indie Hip Hop. Many artists will put out albums of out-takes, mix-tapes with regurgitated verses etc. in order to appease the market. What this does is exactly the opposite of pleasing loyal fans; it makes the market flooded with mediocre material. Hiero is not in the business of rushing releases to meet market timelines and goals. We are not into putting out half-assed material that is unfinished, unmixed, or unmastered. In the case of the "Oldies" series, we decided after many years to release music that had been floating around on miscellaneous tapes, illegal download sites, etc. so that we could give our fans what they wanted all in one cohesive package. We are not in this business to take advantage of those who love us. I want some new material too, but if we do not set it up right in the current climate (with videos, tours, press, etc.) then we will doom ourselves to careers full of disappointment and obscurity. This is not and has never been our destiny. To those of you who have remained patient, INFINITE thanks and we hope that you are pleased with what we have been painstakingly preparing.

I think most people had a general idea of what you just said. It's cool with me. I can wait.

Tajai I don't think the issue is missing release dates etc. I know when hiero puts an album out it's quality. I also think we all understand how difficult it is doing everything yourselfs independently .. Especially in the current state of the music industry. My issue is the lack of information that flows between hiero and the fans.. So it may be a post on the hoopla or a note on the website every few months..if we feel like we have some idea what's coin on it's a lit easier to wait 9 years for a new souls! Hah .. I also find other fans who I know have bought hiero albums in the past bit wont really look for new information are kinds droppin off.. And it would be good to tell them somethin to keep em interested.. If ur core fan base knows they can then spread that information out there..
Just sum thoughts..
Peace

I feel Tajai. but still there is two sides of it. Like i feel him because a lot of these cats have family, wives, kids, lives, parents and shit there not 24/7 Overdrive music! if you notice alot of the hiphop cats usually retire by now for those reasons. so its like to me FAmily 1st. then recording and getting shit properly promoted is a bitch because the hiphop industry right now its not right altho i personally think hiero has the tools to turn the whole hiphop industry around. look at mos def calling commercial cats out making them look like little bitches. making people want to see what the underground has to offer. not say u must go out and attack people but Hiero is one of the most recognized underground cats still around so they have the tools to do something about hiphop. but on the other note i to me i stop checking the hoopla and lose interest because the lack of communication and all that shit. and I'm guessing this is why the hoopla itself is so empty compared to what it once was. whats crazy is hiero is so up there they got fans willing to do shit for them for free. shit i just think hiero should utilize the tools and powers that they have not only for the good of themselves but for the good of the culture.
