Finding New Music [Archive] - Access Hip Hop Forums

What's the best way to find new music/ artists... I always like to discover new stuff. I like Pandora bc it always introduces me to new artists that are similar to the ones I love.

Any better ways of finding out about new music?

My picture of what is good music is steadily expanding through the 6 degrees of separation.
Artists who work with other artists are really important.
This is especially true in independent music because money has less to do with why artists collaborate.

Here's one of my favorite chains:
Myka Nyne > Sunspot Jonz > Moka Only > Battle Axe > Mr Brady > Deep Rooted

i like using the different internet radio stations on winamp. those are usually pretty dope. and then a lot of blogs. they keep me fresh!

cdbaby.com has a lot of independent artists and usually have snippets for every song. I've gotten a good amount of stuff from them. Access is great as well.

Yeah, word of mouth thru people opinions who you trust.

Making friends with people on forums like this one is what lead me to more new stuff than anything.

And hip hop blogs are great too.

the spitkicker mixtape has always introduced to me to some of my favorite artists, its always showcasing some up and comers with a high level of skill and integrity.
