As one half of Northern California duo Disflex6 and co-founder of
their label and collective Sunset Leagues International, Jason The
Argonaut has been a mainstay in the under-underground for quite some
time. Since his last solo album Keyboard to Life, the producer/mc
has managed to drop (alongside cohorts Elon.is and Lazerus Jackson)
two Disflex albums and a series of mixtapes like The Big Larapski,
Seeds 1-4 and Sound It Out, as well as a limited double seven inch
break record. The gap in-between was definitely productive, but as
an individual leading a dual lifestyle, it's his daytime job that
brought him to LA for a brief re-location, where he went from well
known in the Bay to relatively unknown in the ever-bustling city of
angels. The land of "fake tits" and "overpriced cocktails" or "bad
traffic" and "porn stars" as he puts it, and as most people become
consumed by the city and see their dreams shattered, Jason
transformed it into his next project, an observation of the over
saturated scene in LA of aspiring rappers, DJ's and producer's, all
trying to get their foot in the door with industry insiders in the

band to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the release. The original
vinyl artwork has been faithfully restored in this 8 panel eco-
friendly limited edition CD with fold-out poster. Paul's Boutique is
consistently named as one of the greatest albums of all time by
numerous publications such as Time, Rolling Stone, Spin, Q, and The
Source. Shaking the stigma they received after the commercial break-
through License To Ill, the group set out to prove they weren't some
gimmicky party rap act and wanted show the world of hip hop that
things would be taken seriously. Building songs from heavy sampling
elements of the time, it was the perfect fit for the Beastie Boys in
their next phase, but record execs felt it was a flop and critics
were perplexed by this newer, mature Beasties and dismissed it. But
as the story goes, the album slowly started to build momentum and
eventually achieved gold status and has consistently made its way in
top "Top Picks" of all-time lists from major publications over the
last 20 years and by 1999 it reached double platinum. To this day
the album is regarded as a classic and has reached fans of all
genres, and not just fans of their music or hip hop.
