Just curious, do you guys download albums often if your not sure about them?
There are certain artists which I will always buy their albums...but If I am interested in an artist new to me, or an album im not sure about I will sometimes download it. (telling myself if it's dope I will buy it anyways)...doesn't always happen
...there is just so much music

i believe you have to respect the person giving you their opinion
if you see common ground on how the are presenting whether or not they like an album
If they are on a high horse and the perspective isn't even close to yours
than why give it the time of day
If you see where they are coming from than take it to heart

I get the ish if it's on a website with some other music that's dope. I am the reviewer. I have friends who hate on new artists because they didn't find them. Access is always promoting some new ish that's tight. Shawn Jackson, Buff1, The Tones. Download the ish and delete it if it sucks, or buy the album if it's tight!

Yeah allot of times before I buy an album I like to see what other peeps think...an example being Del Tha Funkies last album "11th Hour".....
I heard so many bad things about it that I didn't even pick it up, instead I spent my money on something worth wild...
works vise versa, I had never heard One Be Lo's stuff before, but I heard so much praise about SONOGRAM, and now I am a huge One Be Lo fan!
Masters of the Universe is sick too!

Going to the live show is the best answer to who's legit. Pigeon John probably would never be in the Ipod, but seeing him in 2002...that was it. I'm buying all your ish from this point forward. And he still is putting it down at live shows.

I agree certain artists (at least in my opinion) I can buy an album without listening to it. I rarely download any album so album reviews with snippets are important.

Reviews are fairly important to me. I'll usually try finding a few songs to listen to from a new cd before I buy it if I got my doubts. Some cds Ill jus buy em if its from certain artists. And the rest Ill buy a cd if a big majority of reviews give it big ups.

Reviews are absolutely essential for me.
I come across so many dope albums from the forums I visit, that I would rarely download an album to test it out if I haven't heard a positive review on it...professional or amateur. And depending on the reviewer, I will buy blind if I trust the reviewer and know their tastes are similar to mine. So there are a lot of levels to reviews, all are important to me.

Reviews aint shit to me. They don't have my ears and mind. I never buy without hearing first either if I have never heard of them before.

Yeah, although I find it hard to be able to listen to some releases first. So I either take a chance or forget about it.
