I bought that album when it first came out, awesome. just started reading the reviews, write ups and what not and it seems like people are having a hard time putting this album in a certain genre. what do you guys think?

My opinion: hip-hop

People are saying Jazz and indie rock, but those elements can be found in a lot of hip-hop.

Anyway, album is banging, if you dont have it, get it.

I opened for them in Long Beach and wasn't all that impressed, sounded boringto me, haven't heard the recordings though, so I am not passing jugement based on that alone...but I have never really been a fan of 2mex..I fucking dugg Mars Volta though....

Album is dope, one of my favorites from last year.

I would classify it as hip hop as well because it predominately is. They do an awesome job of mixing it up, though, because there are a lot of elements from other genres all over it.

Great album though.

PS: Everything Mars Volta after De-Loused has been just awful, pretentious, and boring.

I've been a Mars Volta fan for a long time now and I agree, I've bought all their albums when they drop and they progressively get less and less appealing to me. Maybe its me?

I've seen the Look Daggers live twice and they blew me away, I actually felt they were better live than on their album...once again, my personal opinion, but if you opened for them and you thought they were wack, why havent we heard of you?

WOW! Anything that 2Mex is a part of is incredible! This album is fresh: fresh meaning dope and fresh meaning different than the same ol same ol.
Props to the Look Daggers! I'd imagine that if the Look Daggers thought he was dope, he wouldn't have opened for them just one time...
