Hey all

I'm currently working on this video produced and featuring rapper Lyrics Born and Australia's Al Bino - I would really appreciate your thoughts?

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=rDE8HvGIt2U

Is it catchy?
Do you like the way the message is delivered?
Does it offend you?
Would you share it with friends/family?

Thanks so much for your responses.

Okay, yeah, your shit SUCKS royally. I appreciate the message you are trying to get across. I surf almost everyday and haven't been wearing much sunblock lately. Your whack. What homie. But your cool.

It is catchy for a kook.

I can't stand the way you are trying to deliver this message.

It doesn't offend me one bit, rock on homie.

There isn't a chance in hell I will share this with anybody. Offf to the trash it goes.

Buh-Bye

Goodluck. Enjoy. Peace.

Yeah, that's one of my best friends. He broke me off the homegrown blends link for no reason... now I know the reason. You didn't go to CSUMB did you?

Nah I didn't go to CSUMB, but I went to CSUSM but thats a different story. This is definitely a small world, I have known Bobby since early grade school, growing up in Gilas...Dude was mad funny in high school and I was in some of the same theater productions that he was in, there are some incriminating tapes out there. Went to a couple all ages shows with him. Dude single-handedly put me on game to Paris (Oakland), borrowing tapes. Bobby always had some next thing or project he was working on, funny that I just contacted him through facebook. Lost contact with him for a few years. Any friend of Bobby is cool in my book...

Do you know EyeKnow from OstrichHead? Another homie from my high school who went to CSUMB.

Do you still play out in SF? What is your crew up in the Bay? Are you part of the NHA??

Damn I miss the Bay, but I like it down here too...Peace man

Wes, I'm stoked to hear we're agreeing on something; it's time we start agreeing some more and being on the same team homie. You know this. Happy New Years Wesley!!!

Noooooo shit.

Never associated with those Ostrich Head dudes... spun a Halloween party where a couple of those dudes did a set, but I never met none of em. Heard way too much negative shit from various mutuals...

Fuck a crew... way too much politics and bullshit up here. No idea who the NHA is. I roll with my lady only, she's a fucking killer with the reggae 45's. We do 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at a real nice spot. Otherwise, between being busy as fuck, generally disgusted with the state of the DJ scene up here and not having a nice neat little genre for myself to be pegged in for gigs, I'm not really sweatin shit right now. Been putting more of my time and energy into collecting and dealing wax which has been going real well.

But yeah hopefully the three of us can shoot the shit and have a beer or twelve one of these days. Bobbie will be up here in the Bay for my wedding/bachelor party Valentine's Day weekend. Did he ever break you off that Broken Windows CD from @ 2000?

Fair enough, thanks for the responses. Can't expect it to be to everyone's taste.

LB didn't do it for money peeps, its a cause he cares about, so I guess you could argue he put his talents to good use, that is, if people react positively to it & realise that sun damage causes cancer no matter how cool they think they are.

It's a good message, but its conveyed in a horrible, lame-humor type of manner.

Good luck with it though.

Peace

I'd guess it's an awkward issue most people try to avoid thinking of. Now usually people listen to music for enjoyment, relaxing and such and not in order to put a mental strain on yourself.

I can't help but feel the track just makes it seem ridiculous.

Listen to Blueprint's 1988, then blast your track and roll your windows down in traffic.

You tell me........Is it good?

They have some projects here, one is called Rapucation. Rappers go into elementary schools and perform and give out tracks about history, climate change, biology and such. They rap about facts, mix it with a battle rap attitude and a somewhat banging beat. The rappers really suck, but the kids like it a lot.
