FEATURED ITEM OF THE WEEK:

Murs - Can It Be 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16200
We're almost there! "Can It Be" is the second single off of Murs'
upcoming, long awaited, heavily delayed and highly anticipated run
for the Presidency! Errr...I mean his album, Murs For President!
Still, you would have to admit it's a nice marketing push with the
elections just around the corner. So...the extended title sums it up
nicely and reads: "18 Months and Half A Million Dollars Later" we
get the instrumental and accapellas for both the title track and "Me
and This Jawn" on the flip! GO! (Please note: there was some sort of
mix up at Warner, and this 12" was pressed on black vinyl, even
though advance publicity said white vinyl.)

NEW RELEASES:

LMNO - LeteMkNO CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16027
Just months after one of our top picks of the year (LMNO and Kev
Brown's Selective Hearing), the Visionaries emcee returns with some
all-new material, served up mixtape style on Up Above Records!
LeteMkNO features 32 tracks of cuts, classics, featurings and new
and exclusive material that may or may not make it to an as of yet
unannounced future project featuring production from French
producing duo Yankesz and Astronote! Fans won't want to miss out!

DJ Muggs & Planet Asia - Pain Language CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=15979
WOW! This is exactly what Planet Asia needed...a shot in the arm of
pure adrenaline from a producer who can put him back on top. No
question Muggs is a legend, and his work with Cypress Hill and Wu-
members over the years have shot the Soul Assassin into the
internationally known arena as a lasting force! Hard production,
just that raw and dirty type, help Planet Asia really open up his
lyrical arsenal fitting the aggressive nature of each song perfectly
throughout the course of Pain Language. I don't think I'm alone when
I say that Asia's last album Jewelery Box Sessions was an album I
really didn't feel, but Pain Language is on a completely different
level, one that I can't even compare to any of his previous
releases... it's that good! Featuring B-Real, Sick Jacken, Killah
Priest, Prodigal Sun, GZA and more!

Pigeon John - Featuring Pigeon John 2 CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16341
We got our hands on an exclusive release by Pigeon John that you
normally can only seem to find on tour! Featuring Vol. 2 is a
collection of course, of tracks featuring the emcee as he appeared
on various other releases with artists and producers on side
projects and compilations. Featuring Grouch and Eligh, Blackalicious
and Lateef, "Open Bar" (a song he likes to perform live), Lyrics
Born, Del, and tracks with his previous affiliations to Brainwash
Projects, LA Symphony and so much more! Limited!

Creed Chameleon - Siq of Lazy CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16344
From the Honolulu based hip hop label SIQ Records comes Hawaii's
secret weapon Creed Chameleon. Holding it down for years in the
Direct Descendants collective, the emcee returns after his 2004
album Love Potion Cyanide! As hip hop legends travel and do shows in
the Aloha State such as Common, Hieroglyphics, Talib Kweli, Wu-Tang
members and more... Creed Chameleon is the one who almost certainly
opens the spot! A local hero and one the biggest talents to emerge
from the islands and make his way to the mother land and worldwide.
Positive, observational, jazzy and easy to listen to, with a diverse
array of beats and flows, it's hard not to like this one. Featuring
Joe Dub, Ion Myke, DJ Risup (of Hunger Pains), Mieso (originally
from Japan) and more! Special Thanks to DJ Norm Rocwell for turning
me and the rest of Access on to Creed Chameleon. Word!

DJ Design - Jet Lag CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16260
Dope little producer comp from DJ Design, this one is almost sure to
slip under your radar, so let me be the first to tell you not to
sleep. In addition to DJ-ing for Foreign Legion, the
turntablist/producer was an early member of the Stones Throw roster
in the late 90's and is still a contributor to many of their
artists; but it's been eight long years since his own album Gather
Round was released on the label. Now on Look Records, Jet Lag
showcases his diverse producing talent alongside many familiar names
and up and comers including Oh No, Roc C, Dudley Perkins, Grip Grand
and more!

One Block Radius - One Block Radius CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16196
I remember when Bay Area bizarre-o rapper Z-Man was saying shit like
"Suckin' on titties full of Ovaltine" - and now he and his cohorts
One Block Radius, with Marty James and MDA from L.A, have a major
hit on the radio! What?! Formed in 2003, when Z-Man took the bait
and agreed to roll south to sing and write some tunes with Marty and
MDA, they released the strong and different, but somewhat slept on,
Long Story Short in 2005, hitting the road soon after as an opening
act for De La Soul, The Pharcyde, Matisyahu, KRS-One, Trick Daddy
and others. Since then, OBR's songs have been heard in film and tv
projects including American Gun and 50 Pills (for which Marty was a
music supervisor). In 2006 they also released Cut Some Static, an
Internet/live-show-only original mixtape, of which only 300 original
copies exist. Aside from "You Got Me," the song you've been hearing
played just about everyday, there are plenty of other catchy jams
that are sure to pop up in the near future. Fans of Z-Man might find
it awkward but it's still him spittin' some crazy un-radio-like
rhymes...for that much, I'm happy for their success.

Kosha Dillz - The Spare Change Tour CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16349
Upcoming Israeli American emcee that has put swagger back into being
Jewish. Much in the way labels like Hip Hop Is Music boast their
Christianity, Kosha Dillz uses hip hop and his music as a podium for
spreading a message of truth and peace. This exclusive tour cd
features all new material and exclusives including freestyles and
guest appearances by frequent collaborator C-Rayz Walz, Yak Ballz
and more!

The Pharcyde - Runnin (Philippians RMXX) 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16007
From the all-new Delicious Vinyl compilation Rmxxology, the label has
taken some of their biggest hits and updated them for the worldwide
scene and an all-new generation! The more house-y, electronic
remixes of other jams off of this compilation might not have been
your cup of tea, for example the Diplo remix of "Bust A Move." But
the Philippians take on "Runnin" is perhaps the best of the bunch,
as it sounds the closest to the original as you can get, adding only
subtle touches, and very good ones at that...extra flips on the
guitar samples, a few cool glitchy moments on the vocals, and only a
tad more upbeat. Remixing Dilla isn't easy, but I don't think anyone
set out to try and do it better, and that's why keeping it close
enough to still resemble the original was key in making it work.
Now for the real treat...DJ Nu-Mark updates "4 Better or 4 Worse"
with a fresh beat, breathing brand new life into the classic track.
You want more!!??? In addition to getting the instrumentals for
both, you also get the Accapellas! And when was the last time you
saw the original "4 Better or 4 Worse" 12-inch!? Thought so...

Non Stop Krooks - Polish Your Skillz CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16338
Non Stop Krooks are a Florida Based collective on Foulplay Records,
featuring a multi-talented roster, of both Drum-N-Bass and hip hop
DJ's and Producers, B-boys, Graff Writers and emcees. Prolific, A
Sicks, Saga the Mc, Freddy Cojaxx, Kice of Course and k-Illa are
also joined by guest appearances from Sabac Red, C-Rayz Walz,
Copywrite, Kosha Dillz and more!

3 RECENT RELEASES NOW ON VINYL!!!

Elzhi - The Preface 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16165
One movement in hip hop over the last few years that has shown no
signs of slowing down is that of the music coming out of Detroit!
Elzhi of Slum Village offers up his official full-length solo album
The Preface after the success of the now very hard to find double
disc mixtape Witness My Growth, which chronicled the talented
artists career with self selected tracks and exclusives from 1997 to
2004! Featuring production handled almost entirely by Motor City
native (and now pretty much a superproducer) Black Milk with guest
appearances by T3, Guilty Simpson, Phat Kat, Royce Da 5'9" and more!

GZA - Pro Tools 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16194
Quite possibly one of the better if not best Wu related releases this
decade! There have been a lot of good, a few okay and others not so
hot, but Pro Tools (which is referring to his mic skills) is
definitely at the front of the pack! Always a fan favorite and one
of the strongest members of the Clan, GZA drops everything on us all
at once, deep metaphorical jewels, storytelling epics, morality
tales, and the one creating the most buzz, the 50 Cent dis track!
But that's nothing compared to the rest of the album and is really
showing GZA just getting it off his chest, because Fiddy is
yesterday's news, and there is plenty more out there wrong with the
mainstream than just him these days. If there's one thing we can
depend on, it's the belief that because Wu-Tang's fan base is world
wide the message is always left with the people to spread the word.
Their name still reaches the masses and the fire they've sparked in
hip hop will never be extinguished. Featuring production by The RZA,
Bronze Nazareth, Mathematics, Black Milk (Whuut!), Dreddy Krueger,
and True Master to name just a few, as well as featuring RZA, Masta
Killa and more!

Ultimate Breaks & Beats - Instrumentals Vol. 1 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16115
From Traffic Ent., funky re-creations of the classic beats and
breaks from the legendary series that started it all with El Michels
of Truth and Soul at the reins, reinvigorating these heavily sampled
staples into full length funky and soulful grooves. Newly revised
instrumental versions of JB's "Funky President", Rufus Thomas's "Do
The Funky Penguin", Bobby Byrd's "I Know You Got Soul", Babe Ruth's
"The Mexican", "It's A New Day" by Skull Snaps, "Synthetic
Substitution" by Melvin Bliss, "Cramp Your Style" by All The People,
"Think (About It)" by Lyn Collins and more.
