I acquired a copy of this record by pure luck a few months back and posted it on my blog. The record got an unexpectedly huge response by my readers and I'm just trying to find out more info about it since No Need was one of my favorite records. I tried contacting Hiero with no luck. Anyone here know anything about it, like how many were actually pressed and for what purpose-show vinyl? Do any copies exist with the full Elektra label? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

that sounds pretty cool. a few months ago i was reading about this dude who managed to pick up an instrumental no need for alarm vinyl for under 5$ or something. maybe it was you? either way..you think you could send me those tracks? =] according to wikipedia the no need for alarm instrumentals is considered the holy grail of all instrumentals since there are very few copies, but that's just wikipedia.

I envy you for that, I read it on your blog a few months ago. Do you use myspace? Seriously, you should email Domino or even Del through their myspace pages. They answer questions. If you don't have an account, then let me know and I'll ask them for you.

Yeah already emailed Del there, got no answer. So I just emailed Tajai and Domino so we'll see. I also don't want everyone to flood them with ems
emails for the same questions. I'll just wait and see.

Haha the saga continues. Tajai just wrote back and tells me it's a bootleg! Trust me it's no boot. Maybe he doesn't even know about it-or he's not telling.

He probably just doesn't know about it. I agree that is no bootleg.

Yeah it still boggles the mind to think these artists don't know about or even have a copy of their music. It's so weird to me. I hear it all the time though.

So is there any Hiero member here that can tell us more about this record, anyone...anyone...anyone?....
It's so funny, upon further google research I've seen a discogs post about this record that I didn't make, and now a youtube catch a bad one video using my pictures!?

Finally got a reply from Domino. He tells me these were show vinyl only, maybe 100 pressed or less. Also Elektra made a mistake with the song order and leaving the instrumental for "Wack MCs" off the record. Well there it is. We finally know more about this legendary record. Peace.

That just made my day. WOW!!! If only they weren't M4a files. (all good though)

I'm not really a collector though and so I'm not in the business of hoarding and reselling records. I DJ and produce and just love the beats on this album. They represent a lost era in Bay Area music and it's really just a classic DEL/Hiero album. I like to find out the stories behind some of these records I come across that sometimes happen to be rare like this one. Before finding a copy of my own, I've never seen or heard of anyone actually owning one outside the rumors of it's existence where only Hiero crew had copies. And that was never confirmed either until now! And whoever sold it to this shop was not very smart in my opinion. Nor was the person who priced the records at $1.99 each! Haha, so crazy! Peace.
