instrumental release! Message In A Bottle is beautifully composed of

changes throughout each song with breathtaking symphonic build
ups...it's as if you're listening to a soundtrack to a movie.
Clearly his best work to date and hopefully the one that turns out
many new fans. The highlight of this album is his haunting re-
imagining of Nirvana's "Heartshaped Box", featuring the soothing

We're continuing in our quest to carry more from Sly and The Family
Stone as the requests for their albums keep pouring in! This 5th
album which debuted atop the Billboard Charts in 1971 was kind of a
farewell album to the sound they were known for in the 60's, which
could be looked at as a decade of revolution and change
historically, however as the 70's arrive...it's still felt as if
nothing had changed at all. Taking this theme of frustration to
their music, it was a darker and much more experimental album met
with both praise and problems from within the group. Sly Stone's
unique re-recording and dubbing process gave the album a strange
distorted tape hiss throughout the album and he also utilized
filtered drum machine techniques...pretty rare for the times and
probably why it's so sought after by enthusiasts.

Virginia area emcee King Jakob put out his solo EP Five Bucks.
Sorry...not actually five bucks, Fiveseven is from the group The
Exiles with DJ Wreckless and Knobody (not from Hiero's label) and
have been notable players in the D.C. underground scene for quite
some time. It's hardly Southern but not quite East Coast...a very
unique blue-collar rap sound similar to the likes of other area
groups and emcees including Skip2MyLeft and D-Vo.
