i don't know...hip hop is a boys club (no homo) with a few exceptions...none of the ladies in this video were the exception...at least to me. in fact, some of them made me cringe. they all seem like they're: 1. auditioning for a spot next to saul williams in slam part two or 2. hip hop dykes...stop with all that "nahimean?" bullshit. you're not fooling anyone.

Okay this is where we agree... sort of. I mean any female solo artist. I think that a female emcee can play an integral part of a group. Like Digable or Polyrythm Addicts or the Fugees. I dont feel that any of those female emcees can stand on their own two feet though and make a solo hip hop album that is classic. The only one who has gotten close is Lauryn, I love her solo album but its not exactly hip hop. She sings her ass off on that album.

Like you said it depends on what you consider classic. MC Lyte albums are classic to me. Lyte as a Rock.

But as far as females doin it now I say Kandi Cole and Miki Vale are my favorites because I seen them live and they are true MCs (Masters of Ceremony). They are better than most male artists I seen honestly. Jean Grae is real good to, saw her with Talib Kweli at HOB and she was real hard. Bahamadia and Psalm One are hard to.
