April 26. Heard some really brief clips...sounds a little bleaker this time around, but I'm pretty psyched. I hope it's worth the...um, 10-year wait.

Its not.

not sure what album you heard, but the new album is pretty amazing. it's not right off the bat nuts like the first two, but from the opening bars of the first song you are assured this is, indeed, the return of portishead.

the programming on this one is slightly different than before.

i think they tried not to focus on duplicating their past efforts while still just doing what they do best and letting their natural tendencies work freely.

watch them perform (http://current.com/items/88899146_portishead_in_portishead) 7 songs from the album.

If you like Silver Apples or Can then you will love it. Its pretty easy to tell that bands like portishead and radiohead are heavily influenced by them. The limited edition lp boxset is a must IMO.

aint expecting another dummy or portishead but be interesting to see how they sound 10 years on. as long as its heavy on the tremolo i'll be happy.

if you dig portishead you should check out lamb. productions as good as portishead and the chicks voice is amazing.

these 2 albums are dope...

Third is one of my favourite albums of 2008, Third is fantastic and it has been well worth the 11 year wait, the only weak song is "Deep Water"

I heard it's kind of bittersweet... like it's a dope record, but it's basically a different band and that's true because it's been 11 years since they dropped the last one. (damn I'm getting old)

^ yeah man...it's funny how hip hop heads measure their age by when their favorite albums came out. i feel like an old man when i hear 93 til Infinity...what the fuck...a decade and a half ago? we're literally running towards infinity...
