View Full Version : Legends, we need more vinyl
I can understand that cds are less expensive than vinyl, but i think that you should invest in the "old" medium, too. especially instrumentals (as it was said in another thread) are very important for djs. i would buy a lot more of your releases if i could get them on vinyl.
and on your europe tour you've seen how fast your vinyls were sold out.
and i think after all these years, your fanbase should be big enough, so it would be worthwhile to bann your stuff on "black gold".

WE NEED MORE VINYL!!!!
here in Switzerland it's very hard to get indie records
I think in Europe the problem is that there are on the one side many of these local underground record stores who carry underground vinyl and on the other the big chains who sell mainstream CD's, but nearly no shops sell underground CD's, just a few mailorders.
If someone over here would get licenses for your albums and press them up on vinyl editions, I guess you would sell at least 10 times of the number of albums. Some very cool labels started to release westcoast underground stuff over here on wax (subversiv), I hope they will grow and drop more and more.
It's a pity that Mary Joy doesn't press up that many of your albums on double vinyl like in the last years from Eligh, Murs, CMA, Elusive.... but the japanese editions are even harder to get... if you don't sell em too
@Loud:
you say that over here in Germany, are not that much shops to sell. but here are many shops and also a lot of mailorders. ok, not everyone of them will sale legends stuff, but it's a question of the fanbase. everyone who wants this stuff, will get it. by mailorder oder by asking the shopowner.

Do your digging folks. If you can find LL vinyl used, it's usually surprisingly cheap. I went up to Vancouver a few months ago and saw Black Sands... for like $4 US.

yeah, if you lucky enough to find some at a store where they don't really know what it is you can catch very cheap deals but on eBay they bid hella money for that shit ! i've seen the 4001 lp sold for 35,- euro, the cma lp for 45,- euro and the by far craziest shit i've seen so far was the gandalfs beat machine lp for 61,- euro.....that's about $ 65....god damn.....

Elusive - the prototype session for 33€
the legends must press more vinyl...that's not normal with the prices for the vinyls...nobody want to pay so much money for this shit and i think this is not in the meaning of the legends too...

but the reason we write in english is because this is an english-spoken board. the other people should understand too since this is not our personal little threat.

I heard that the CMA album was a very limited pressing. Was lucky enough to snag one from Amoeba one day and haven't seen it in stores since. And I'm willing to bet that there are new, sealed copies of the 4001 repress in stores around the Bay Area.
Just a little message to all the CD haters:
A few years ago some albums have been released on tape only. So what's better: CD only or tape only? Yeah, tapes are more real and underground! Haha! If you buy them on the street you're the coolest motherfuckers around!

My homie got that awhile ago. I was sleeping at the time cause I had the cd. I wish I bought that on wax.
Last year the LP was available again for 2 days on this site as "Grouch tidied up his garage"... that was what they wrote :-) of course it was sold out very quickly.
I think, if he intends to put out a 12" from the new album, "paint a perfect picture" should be on it, a pity that he didn't even performed that song when I saw him live last year, I just recognized the title song. I guess the next wax will be the one with Daddy Kev.
