this one so that you can make your plans now to come by Saturday
November 10th @ 3 PM for Little Brother!!! You heard right, so bring

FEATURED ITEM OF THE WEEK:
Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt DVD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14287
In anticipation for his upcoming soundtrack of music inspired by the
film American Gangster, comes a special documentary on the making of
a hip hop classic. Jay-Z has been one of the most influential figures
in Hip Hop music since the mid-nineties. Initially as a performer
racking up an incredibly successful string of hit singles and albums
and latterly as an executive, having taken on the presidency of Def
Jam Records in 2004. "Reasonable Doubt" was his debut album and is
still considered by many to be his finest achievement. A much harder
hitting and edgier record than his later more polished and pop
orientated releases, it announced to the world that a new rap star
had arrived. This latest addition to the Classic Albums series sees
Jay-Z take us back through the whole creative process behind this
stunning first release. This extended dvd features over 50 minutes of
footage not shown on VH1's broadcast along with rare performance
footage, and bonus interviews!
NEW RELEASES:
Atmosphere - Sad Clown Bad Fall 10 CD / 12" EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14414
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14377
As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, the dreary months
of Fall creep in and gray skies hang overhead. As seen on tour and
now with wide release, Sad Clown 10 is meant to transition fans and
listeners from Summer to Autumn with fitting lyrical content and
slump heavy beats, done in only a way that Atmosphere can with 5 all
new tracks to tide us over before Winter.
Buck 65 - Situation CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/13999
Buck 65's brand new album released on Sage Francis' Strange Famous
Records! The funny thing here, you may or may not remember, a few
years back Richard Terfry (Buck) was baited and led on by a
journalist and quoted as saying "I hate hip hop now," and later
continued that he'd somehow moved on, he received some serious
backlash over the comment and one of the loudest voices speaking out
against him for this comment, was Sage Francis. Buck 65 later
apologized for the comment and merely wanted to end the poorly
conducted interview by playing devil's advocate. While it had no
effect on his fan base, it's obvious now that the apology had been
accepted, he produced "Got Up This Morning" on Human The Death Dance,
even touring with Sage, who fought for The Situation to receive a
North American release in conjunction with Buck's Warner Music of
Canada, after his last album, 2005's Secret House Against the World,
never made it Stateside. If you found his later material to be less
hip hop and more blues-y or folk-ish, fear not, this is definitely
closer to Square or Man Overboard more than anything!
Zion I & Grouch - Lift Me Up 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/13440
Second single from the runaway hit, Heroes in the City of Dope,
featuring the Eligh produced (and my favorite track) 'Lift Me Up' and
a remix by Hyphy heavyweight Traximillion. On the flip you get the
80's themed Smack, produced by Amp Live and cuts by Oakland Fader's
DJ Platurn, with a remix by Headnodic (Crown City Rockers) that takes
the song to a whole new level with more of an East Coast feel! With
instrumentals for each version!
Pieces of Peace - Pieces of Peace CD/LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14464
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14463
Unearthed by DJ Shadow himself for Quannum, a rare and lost gem from
late 60's and 70's soul funksters from Chi-Town! Pieces of Peace
played as a backing band and jammed with some of the best known names
at their time, members of the group later moved on to other projects
with Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson and Phil Collins, never
actually getting an official release that truly gave them the
attention they deserved. Now you can revel in this collection of
classics, rarities and bonuses...much like other recent re-issues and
lost-now-founds like Amnesty, East of Underground and The Dragons,
this is a must have for aficionados, collectors and anyone who digs
what Giles Peterson and Kon and Amir have been putting out as of
late.
7L & Esoteric - Egoclapper CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14458
Just one year after their critically acclaimed "A New Dope" 7L and
Esoteric return for yet another album that further expands on their
quality brand of hip hop and continues to make the duo a force to be
reckoned with! Heavy and hard hitting production as usual and some
fierce delivery from MC Esoteric as usual!
Anomaly - Mesa 12" EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/13862
Now on vinyl!!! Last year Chicago producer Anomaly hit us with one of
the best instrumental albums in recent memory! While it went
unnoticed on some top 10 lists of '06, we can assure you it was due
to how early in the year it came out and surely not forgotten. If you
didn't pick up The Long Road and you dig on downtempo, then you might
be missing out, and this mini EP is no exception. We caution, do not
operate heavy machinery while listening, because this is definitely a
chill at home kind of album. Electronic synths, acoustic melodies,
hypnotic head nodding ensue.
Makestapes - Simpatico 7"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14539
It was just by chance that we were able to get these...Makestapes is
from Houston, TX, now...pretend you didn't hear me say that and let
me make a comparison I won't throw around lightly...Bully Records
needs to sign this dude! Downtempo, instrumental, drum heavy bliss!
Two tracks both dope and more are on the way...because after hearing
this we are very interested in carrying everything this guy has put
out! A 45 that can be played at slower speeds and still have the same
desired effect! Simply beautiful...
Audible Doctor - Brownies CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14460
Audible Doctor aka AMD drops an instrumental session made up of short-
in-length James Brown sampled goodies...or Brownies. A homage to
Dilla's "Donuts" in name, fans will recognize the recipe, but also
notice a difference that there's more than one way to flip the
Godfather of Soul without beating a dead horse, as he instills groovy
basslines over sensible boom-bap. Go!
DJ P - Hell on Wheel$ II CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14459
For fans of Diplo and Hollertronix! We got this in just days before
Halloween, but don't let that stop you from checking it out now!
D.J.P has re-released the classic mix and mash up, Hell on Wheels 2
in a new limited edition digipak! This is part 2 of the Hell On
Wheels series, with even more spooky Hip-Hop/Rock blends. Finally,
you can own D.J.P's patented mix of Rocky Horror's "Sweet
Transvestite", as well as crazy blends of Eminem and Metallica,
Dr. Octagon and The Grateful Dead, and much more! Anyone that enjoys
what Z-Trip did for the revival of the DJ culture, a task in which he
brought to the mainstream more than just scratching, you'll
definitely dig this! Also check out the recently released "B-Boy
Massacre" single from DJ P, and the latest from Controller 7 or
Peanut Butter Wolf's 666 Mix!
KRS One - Throwin Up Letters 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/13990
Okay...so we had these in almost a month ago in very limited
quantities and it went fast but here's the breakdown now that they're
back in stock! The A side is from the soundtrack to "Infamy: Music
Inspired by the Film", which explores music that inspired six of
America's most prolific graffiti artists and why they spray tags,
throwups and full-color murals. Featuring Production by Longevity
with KRS One and Rakaa Iriscience on the mic and the B side "Rough
Rhymes" by Aceyalone & Planet Asia.
