In case anyone is wondering why "The Rebirth" has disappeared from our site, here is a letter sent out by Fatbeats today. Apparently they don't know who is intending to put out the album or they would have addressed the letter more specifically. We're just hoping someone can put it out because we'd like to buy copies of the album to sell in our store!
Text of the letter follows:
To Whom It May Concern::
I am writing on behalf of the Fat Beats Records. It has come to our attention that you are releasing an album by “One Be Lo” (the artist). Please be advised that the artist is an exclusive recording artist of Fat Beats Records (Fat Beats) and as such, Fat Beats owns the exclusive right to use the artist’s name in association with recordings. Fat Beats has not authorized your use of either the artist’s name or any recordings for commercial or promotional purposes.
Please be advised that your use of the artist’s name in association with any recording(s) by the artist is unauthorized and in direct violation of the rights of Fat Beats, and may result in liability or substantial legal actions.
We hereby demand that you:
1) Immediately cease and desist from any further use of artist’s name in association with recording(s) and from distributing or in any other way exploiting recording(s) performed by the artist or alleged to be performed by the artist,
2) Confirm to us in writing within two (2) business days that you have taken the foregoing action and will refrain from further unauthorized uses.
I await your prompt assurance in writing that you have ceased and will desist from engaging further unauthorized uses, and any references to, recording(s) in association with the artist’s name.
This letter is not intended to be a complete statement of the law and/or facts in connection with this matter. Fat Beats expressly reserves all rights, legal, equitable or otherwise, with respect to any claims or actions it may bring under applicable law. Whether or not the above-referenced violations of our right are cured.
If you have any questions concerning this matter please contact me at [contact details edited out by Access]

Fat Beats Records doesn't want any release by "One Be Lo" to be sold if it's NOT put out by Fat Beats Records.

I see. So One Be Lo made this album with someone else even though he's signed to Fat Beats? Weird. I just want to hear the music.

life is the actual full length (which is what fat beats spent all the money on), the rebirth is just a subterraneous release. i haven't actually heard the rebirth yet, but i hear it's not actually up to par at all. which honestly doesn't surprise me in the least, most of the shit he puts up on his myspace is garbage. the huge exception going to that track "gray."
