NEW RELEASES:

Little Brother - Getback CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=12917
Commonly called the LB's, Little Brother have released two classic
and critically acclaimed albums, The Listening in 2002, and The
Minstrel Show in 2005. During their tenure, Little Brother has drawn
comparisons to some of hip hop's most venerable groups like A Tribe
Called Quest, De La Soul, Outkast and EPMD. This highly anticipated
album has North Carolina's finest giving fans of all ages and all
walks of life, new school and old school heads alike, a reason to
once again "Get Back" to being true fans of hip hop! Featuring
appearances by Jozeemo, Darien Brockington, Lil Wayne and more!

Sole & the Skyrider Band - Sole & the Skyrider Band CD/ 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=13927
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14132
In the past, Sole had primarily worked with producers on his Anticon
label such as Alias, Jel, Odd Nosdam and Telephone Jim Jesus for his
solo albums, but as he searched the world for new meaning in life,
new motivation to continue making music, it was a simple twist of
fate that would land him back in the States after a brief stay
overseas. Along the way he met Bud Berning, a dub drummer and
electronic composer recording music under the name Skyrider.
Intrigued by his sound while on a short tour in the U.S., Sole later
returned to work with Berning and two newly recruited members, John
Wagner, a drummer from Tennessee and multi-talented instrumentalist
William Ryan Fritch. Accepting Sole's offer, the band re-located and
got to work. Almost instantly they began rigorously recording what
would be an entire album, as Sole scrapped ten songs already finished
and originally prepared for his next planned release. The voice is
familiar, but the sound is all new! This is a return for Sole after
Live From Rome was met with mixed reactions, and in a major way this
is also a return for Anticon, as Sole is one of their flagship
artists. The embattled emcee takes on corporate America, criticism,
imperialism and his own inner demons as they toil with
dissatisfaction.

Hangar 18 - Sweep the Leg CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14078
Finally filling the three year gap since their first full length The
Multi Platinum Debut, emcees Alaska, Wind N Breeze, and producer paWL
return as Hangar 18 for one of the funniest titles for an album I've
heard in a long time. Sweep the Leg, with the Cobra Kai logo on the
cover from the most beloved American saga's in 80's cinema, the
Karate Kid. Considered to be the least dark in content in the Def Jux
roster, Hangar 18 has always boasted an old school sound with party
jams to boot! With quotable choruses and incredibly fast wordplay,
the team follows the same formula that made their first album a
critically acclaimed hit. In my opinion it is one hell of a follow
up! It's License to Ill meets the 21st Century!

Hell Razah & BSBD - Razah's Ladder CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14170
Kingston and Young God return as the producing duo Blue Sky Black
Death after their highly acclaimed double album A Heap of Broken
Images on Mush Records, and following their successful collab pairing
up last year with Wu-Tang's only West Coast affiliate, Holocaust.
Fresh off the praise from his most recent release, Renaissance Child,
Sunz of Man member Hell Razah hits us with a petrifying combination
of gritty streetwise tales and spiritualism over some very distinct
production... will somebody in the Wu hierarchy just give these guys
an in-house job already? Features appearances by Shabazz the
Disciple, Ill Bill, Prodigal Sun, Crooked I and Sabac Red.

Smif-N-Wessun - The Album CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=13840
Finally allowed to use their Smif-N-Wessun name for the first time
since Dah Shinin' Tek N Steele return after Reloaded for their fourth
full-length release simply titled The Album! After the recent
emergence of the Boot Camp Clik following the success of their last
project, The Last Stand, fans have been embracing solo efforts by
Buckshot and Sean Price and the recently released Casualties of War.
Produced by Ken BB and Tommy Tee and featuring appearances by Rock of
Heltah Skeltah, Million Styles and more!

Prefuse 73 - Preparations CD/LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14106
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14107
Take everything you thought you knew about a Prefuse 73 album and
throw it away! The musical mind of Scott Herren has finally crossed
paths with the ingenuity of his previous works and his side projects
to create a fully realized album of delicate compositions that echo
the very best of his signature chop-hop and his penchant for lush
sonic soundscapes. Both cd and vinyl versions come with a 15 track
bonus disc! Go!

Junk Science - Gran'dad's Nerve Tonic CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14077
This was the real surprise of the week for me! From the trippy cover
to the name of the album itself, I'll admit I had no idea what to
expect, except that DJ Ese (CEO of the label Embedded Music) somehow
managed to get this co-distributed by Def Jux, which must be a hard
thing to do considering its hard-to-please owner EL-P. Unfortunately
I slept on their first album Feeding Einstein, but then again so did
a lot of people from what I understand. For their new album, the
Brooklyn duo and Nuclear Fam members Baje One and DJ Snafu (not of
Old Dominion) re-examined their approach and came up with a concept
about not alcohol but its effects on the personas and creative sides
of each and every one of us. So you can forget about some guy rapping
about getting drunk, but instead get a feeling for what it is about
your poison of choice that makes you want to escape, drown your
troubles, blow a fuse, dance, approach the opposite sex or punish
yourself in guilt ridden rants about life, love and philosophy that
only alcohol can bring out. And that's just the lyrical content...
the production here is an absolutely amazing combination of heavy
samples and drums with patchy patterns, the snap, crackle and pop of
old dusty records and a melodic sense of security that tells you its
okay to nod your head! Now who's been drinking Gran'Dad's Nerve
Tonic? Featuring appearances by Cool Calm Pete, Loer Velocity, a
special remix by Daedalus and more!!!

Legal Hustle Presents - Got Beats? CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14291
From Cormega's label of the same name comes some of the most
respected producers in hip hop as well as new up and comers making a
name for themselves contribute to this instrumental compilation that
begs to ask the question "Got Beats?"! Featuring Primo, Alchemist,
Ayatollah, Emile, Buckwild, Ski Beats, J-Love and much more!!!

Kero One - Windmills Instrumentals CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14341
Jazzy freshness to the fullest extent! Kero One is one of those multi-
talented artists who can produce, scratch, and emcee. He basically
does it all, even utilizing the Moog synths, Fender Rhodes, bass...
etc. Kero One has beats, hands down! Windmills To The Soul was a long
time waiting and even longer still for the instrumentals! Don't
sleep!

The Awkwords - Like Minded CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14504
Straight outta Lincoln, Nebraska...An Hobbs and Toad the Newsense
have beats, rhymes and punchlines for days! At times the album is
lighthearted and upbeat, offering glimpses of their more humorous
personalities, and then it changes to some darker tracks as they spit
furiously over some surprisingly dope production from Anonymity. I
personally sought these guys out and requested to carry their music
here at Access after being handed a copy of this CD. If Nebraska is
known for only one hip hop group ever...let it be The Awkwords. No
joke!

Faculty - Lil Sum 12" / Shake That Shit 12" / That Play 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14481
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14480
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14479
Three singles and a total of 6 tracks collected off the Faculty's
full length album with production on "Lil Sum" and "Shake That Shit"
by Jake One and Oh No! Be sure to check out Phar From Home available
now on CD!

Interlock - Call It What You Want
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14345
It's time to check out a different crew making waves out of Minnesota
these days! From Interlock Records, the same label that brought us
Kanser (Unicus, New MC, DJ Elusive), comes a compilation of the very
best they have to offer from The Twin Cities of St. Paul,
Minneapolis and the surrounding areas! Featuring Twisted Linguistics,
Kanser, The Shizz, I.L.I.C.I.T and more!

J-Live - Reveal The Secret 12" EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14166
After a two year hiatus, J-Live follows his last critically acclaimed
full length "The Hear After" with a sneak peak at his upcoming
project in the form of this 6 song EP "Reveal The Secret". Featuring
Production by DJ Jazzy Jeff, Marco Polo, Da Beatminerz, DJ Spinna and
Oddisee! Please be advised: it looks like our shipment of this title
has some (if not all) warped vinyl. We cannot accept returns of this
title if slightly warped but still playable. Badly warped is still
returnable.

Rajh - Audio Days CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14483
Rajh's music has been causing a considerable amount of buzz in
Southern California as of late. From his hometown of San Diego,
throughout LA and Long Beach, even up to the Bay and Seattle. Audio
Days is a true labor of love for the emcee, and has already received
major college radio play and videos for several tracks off the album
are in the works. You may remember hearing about him in 2006, as his
music was featured in the award winning documentary "Piece by Piece:
The History of San Fransisco Graffiti." Fans of Kero One and Ohmega
Watts will definitely want to check this out!

Eekwol & Mils - The LIST CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14356
A heartfelt offering from sister and brother mc and producer duo
Eekwol and Mils teaming up for their third and most prolific album to
date. As co-owners of Mils Productions and members of the group
Innersoulflows, they are both sound activists for hip hop culture and
for their rights as indigenous peoples of Canada. Featuring a special
guest appearance by Stic.man of Dead Prez!

Pedalay The Boss - War Journals CDR
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14482
Infinity Gauntlet and Civil War drop some hardcore beats and rhymes
during these dark and gritty times in San Diego. Looking outside as
the clouds from the firestorm roll over the freeways and hang above
the skyscrapers blotting out the sun, its as if its Armageddon and
this is the soundtrack! As both artists have been on a hiatus and out
of town for a while, its good to have them back dropping new
material. For fans of Tenshun and Stuntdouble, Orko, Skrapez and
Kilowattz. 619 stand up!

Subtle - Yell & Ice CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14204
A follow-up and somewhat of a companion piece to last year's For Hero
For Fool, the Subtle 6 (Doseone, Jel, Dax Pierson, Alexander Kort,
Jordan Dalrymple and Marton Dowers) are already back with slew of
brand new tracks and collaborations with TV on The Radio, Notwist,
Andrew Broder (of Fog) and a cLOUDDEAD reunion!

Blak Watr - Running Deep, Untitled... CDR
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14494
While steady at work on their upcoming full length album and
preparing for their 2008 Winter Tour, San Diego's very own Blak Watr
composed of emcee's Change, Artoo and DJ Taktik dropped by to save
our asses, freestyling for patrons over some insanely inhuman
beatboxin' by Generik as we waited for our guests DJ Vadim, Ab Rude
and Yhara Bravo to arrive for last Saturday's in-store! They also
managed to finally supply us with this special disc of unreleased
material not to be found on their upcoming album! Its about time
fellas and thanks again for straight ripping it! Show some support
readers... these are true heads doing real things for the scene out
here!

Kon & Amir - Off Track Vol.1-The Bronx 7"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14319
Limited edition 7" containing two non-album cuts from Off Track

Orgone - The Killion Floor 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14083
The LA Based group of musicians first appeared on Ubiquity's Rewind
Vol. 4, they have been seen on tour with Little Brother and even
played as a backing band for the Pharcyde. Their full length debut
the Killion Floor is an organic live experience full of horns
percussion and the sound of smooth funk, soul and jazz from decades
past with a modern upbringing. For fans of Breakestra or Budos Band!

edIT - Certified Air Raid ... CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14183
Certified Air Raid Material is the official sophomore full-length
follow up to edIT's acclaimed first album from 2003 and a dramatic
departure from the melancholy downtempo sounds of Crying Over Pros
for No Reason. Upbeat, energetic and impossibly complex, the album
has certainly raised the bar for state-of-the-art electronic music
production. The record is a tour de force of sheer production and
engineering genius, resulting in a soulful and futuristic style of
dance music that is incomparable to anything else out there. For fans
of Daedalus, Flying Lotus and Prefuse 73!

Charles Flight - Sidewayz Sounds Presents CDR
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14497

Strong Arm Steady - Deep Hearted 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=13891
Now on vinyl! Originally started by West Coast MC Xzibit, Strong Arm Steady was
formed with the intent of bringing together some of Cali's finest
talent (Krondon, Phil Da Agony & San Diego's Mitchy Slick) putting
them out into the spotlight. Though they've been making the mixtape
rounds and constantly touring for years, their official debut album
is a culmination of those years of work and boasts their strongest
collaborative efforts yet!

NYGz - Welcome 2 G-dom LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14359
Now on vinyl!!! Lifelong friends and Gang Starr Foundation members
Shabeeno and Panchi get a proper debut on DJ Premier's Year Round
Label. Years ago things were finally coming together for the duo,
with Panchi poppin up on OC's Jewelz and later the both of them were
featured on "The Mall" from Gang Starr's Moment of Truth. The two
were separated for a brief time after Panchi served a 5-year
sentence, but through loyalty and a passion for the music they stuck
together and kept a strong relationship with DJ Premier. As history
would have it, a sudden decline of the major record labels means that
these days almost everyone attempting to put out real hip hop is
considered to be underground, and the only way to go about this
collapse in the industry is to go independent to have your voice
heard, these are the topics tackled on G-dom in what some are finally
calling a recent revival of that true NY boom bap. Produced almost
entirely by Primo with guest spots from Guru, Royal Flush, Lil Fame
(from MOP) and more!

Aceyalone - Lightning Strikes 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=13833
Now on vinyl! Aceyalone has always been known for his groundbreaking
musical styles and with his latest project Lightning Strikes, the LA
legend is sure not to disappoint. The dancehall and sound selector
scene of the islands is ultimately what led to the birth of hip hop,
so it was only natural for Aceyalone to be drawn to this style of
music when he began creating this concept album. Working with LA
producer Bionik, who has a knack for crafting dub, dancehall, and
reggae inspired tracks, Aceyalone went into the lab and began work on
the first in a series of albums inspired by other genres of music
(jazz, funk, and world music records are coming next). The result is
a new sound that blends Aceyalone's vocals with the up-tempo vibes of
dancehall and the laid back grooves of reggae. Hopefully the core
audience here will embrace this latest experiment, while
simultaneously opening the doors to a new group of fans, a risk which
can be compared to what Common once attempted with Electric Circus,
despite the obvious differences.

G&D (Georgia & Dudley) - Message Uni Versa 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=14293
Now on vinyl!!! Georgia Anne Muldrow has been on a roll since her
Stones Throw debut album Olesi: Fragments of an Earth. The first ever
female artist signed to Stones Throw later revealed her alter ego
Pattie Blingh and The Akebulan Five from the album entitled Sagalas.
As she further explores the limitless possibilities of her musical
mind she has been steadily collaborating with label mate Dudley
Perkins and most recently on Beautiful Mindz with DJ 2Tall. Here they
unite with their fusion of original funk and dusted hip-hop grooves,
a soul revolution from the fearless duo of G&D.
