Featured Item of the Week:
Phat Kat - Carte Blanche 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/12882
Finally! A Hardcore ride through the life and times of Ronnie Cash.
Having been on the scene since the early nineties, first as one half
of the legendary, yet relatively obscure group, 1st Down (with Jay
Dee) and then later striking out on his own. Carte Blanche, the
sophomore album from Phat Kat is no soft offering. With stellar
production and his signature rugged flow, this album is surely
another credible notch on Detroit's belt!
NEW RELEASES:
Qwel & Jackson Jones - Sideweighs CD EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14435
Brand new CD EP exclusive from Galapagos4 dropped off by Qwel
himself! Like most of the tour cd's this one is already going fast,
and one thing we've learned is that every time we get these it's
always quality and that's what keeps people coming back for more...so
if you can't catch 'em on tour we are proud to carry the very latest
the G4 camp has to offer.
Theory Hazit - Hello Kiddeez 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14121
When this first dropped a few weeks ago we didn't get many to start
out with, and then was sold out almost instantly before we could even
write something about it. So, here we are again with only a few of
these German imports, the lead single off of Theory Hazit's Extra
Credit full length from Hip Hop IS Music. Three tracks plus instros!
Jeru The Damaja - Still Rising CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14406
Returning four years after Divine Design, Jeru brings it on with
Still Rising. Perhaps a better title to sum it all up would have been
Politics, Religion and History, as the legendary storytelling,
philosophizing lyricist acts as if no time has passed and shatters
the tired-ass debates about Hip Hop being dead!
Lupe Fiasco - Superstar 12" Single
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14346
Superstar is the lead single off Lupe Fiasco's upcoming sophomore
album The Cool. Featuring fellow Chicagoan vocalist Matthew Santos.
A dedication not about the artist...but to the fans who show love.
MF Grimm - Hunt for Gingerbread Man 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14364
Now on vinyl and the feedback has been positive! Just one year after
his triple album opus "American Hunger" MF Grimm returns with his 4th
full-length album, a conceptual piece based on the adventures of his
criminal alter-ego the Gingerbread Man in the metaphorical world of
Candyland. Don't be taken aback by the idea just yet, at face value
it appears to be a lighter side to Grimm's personality, but still
oddly set in the depths of a dark fantasy world in which he lets his
imagination run free. The production is on point here, dreamy and
playful, and handled by a group of international producers hailing
from Australia to Finland. On a final note, as much as I hate to
admit it, this is MF Grimm's Mouse and the Mask.
NYGz - Ya Dayz R #?D 12" Single
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14360
First single off of the surprise hit Welcome to G-dom by the NYGz!
With two tracks from the album over some classic Primo production and
a special bonus song and probably my favorite thing about this
release N.H.B. In which Panchi and Shabeeno have a little something
extra to say to the media and men in suits on Capitol Hill over
certain words and the attempt to banish them.
Defamation League - League of the Living Dead
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14449
Winners of the "Best Hip Hop" act in the 2006 San Diego Music Awards,
Ocean Beach area's Defamation League drop their sophomore follow up
to The Anatomy of Grit-Hop. MC's and vocalists Dune, Khemical Ali
(also producer) and Nick Sleezin (also on guitar and drums) combine a
mixture of Punk, Rock and stripped down Hip Hop in a marriage of
styles that feel like the raunch and grime of Kool Keith's Sex Style
with the Insane Clown Posse. Or the 80's imagery and party side of
the Beastie Boys mixed with the Kotton Mouth Kingz. Not that I'm
running out of witty comparisons but basically they change it up a
lot throughout the entire album touching on topics like life in Cali,
twisted tales of kinky sex encounters, drugs and rock-n-roll. If you
have a bit of angst built up inside of you and need a release this
just might be what you're looking for.
C.O.L.A. Crew Music
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?label=C.O.L.A..
The Creators of the Lost Arts (or also County of Los Angeles) Crew
are a group of mc's, graff writers, producers and artists dedicated
to keeping the 5 elements of hip hop alive. Orbs and Dazm the Spy of
Poetik Profits (or Prophets) dropped by our store and stocked us with
some of their music including their group album Product of
Productivity, Dazm's solo album Drop the Virus, and Axion (pronounced
ak-shun) & Skruff's side project Deadly Remedy. West Coast D.I.Y
underground knock!
SIQ Records releases:
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?label=SIQ+Records
Based out of Honolulu and from the same label that brought you Creed
Chameleon, SIQ Records brings us some of their latest releases from
the Hawaiian scene and more! Releases from New Hampshire native and
World MC 1 Battle Champ winner from 2002, Signifire's The 147th Best
MC EP, Maine's Anticon-ish Nomar Slevik and his full length
Sasquatch: The Great Dying and of course Hawaii's very own DJ Risup,
emcee's Seph and Bronx native Big Steve for their Hunger Pains album
Dirty Aloha!
Cerebral Arts Ent. releases:
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?label=Cerebral+Arts+Ent..
Last but not least out of Arizona comes Cerebral Arts' a group
composed of Earthborn, Mic Titan, Citizen Aim, Legal Alien
Firstperson I and Divine Wind for their group album Floodwater
Airwaves and the limited edition EP Sideshow a side project group
collabo of Mic Titan and Citizen Aim forming Citizen Titan.
