a) 180ing a 12 stair, grinding a steep 25 stair rail, grinding copping, misty flipping

so for starters (wich i am thinking you are, cause most skateboarders are actually pretty chill with rollerbladers...it's just the posers who diss on it cause they try to impress the good skateboarders)

-when a skateboarder ollies a gap they can always bail and land on their board
-when grinding a stair rail on a skateboard, skateboarders prefer small short stair rails that they float on instead of actually grind...so balance is not necessary
-since most skateboarders roll when they grind quarter pipes they may as well just carv and ride it instead of grind it...so again no balance and very little skill needed
-since skateboarders, with he exception of a few, can't flip their body, they just kick around their board, again very little skill and not very scary
-oh yeah, they would also choose skateboarding because it is very trendy and there are a lot of clothing companies catering to the sport

the reason they would not choose A

i've been skateboarding for about 15 years. so thats long before rollerblades were around and probably before you were old enough to walk. you're the new jack.

rollerblading doesn't take skill because you are strapped in. skateboarding you have to control the board with your feet which takes a ton of skill and coordination. all you have to do on rollerblades is jump, anyone can do that. doing an ollie, kickflip, 360 flip, etc., requires CONTROL. something bladers will never understand.

blading is also a rip off of skateboarding. who were the first to do handrails, stairs, ledges, etc ? skateboarders. blades are just for those who couldn't hang with skateboarding. can you do a nosegrind or a 180 flip? no, you can't. could i strap on some boots and do a soul grind (or whatever you call them)? within a matter of minutes. most bladers started out as skateboarders but couldn't hack it so they took the easy route.

i was at a kid's birthday party saturday, and i was kickin it with the 8-9-10 year old crowd outside the Y on Mission. I was smoking my cigarettes as they were goin off with the freestyle walking/jumping shit. i was laughing, and one rather sensitive 9 year old was like "why are you laughing?" Rollerblading is basically making you pay money to "better" enable freestyle walking, making you change your shoes, therefore taking the spontaneous factor out of it and limiting it to people with an expendable income - it's premeditated freestyle walking for middleclass kids.

Ok, I was all into rollerblading when I was in high school about 13 years ago. I would play street hockey almost every night with all the kids from the neighborhood. It was a lot of fun. I also built a wooden launch ramp that I could use to jump over stuff like those roll out garbage cans (about 4 or 5 feet tall). Nothing to amazing, it was just good times. So, now 13 years later, I crashed my car and it was in the shop for a couple of weeks so I was riding my bike to work. It got me thinking about different ways of getting to work. I decided to get some rollerblades. I couldn't believe how difficult it was for me to find a good pair and any accessories for them. So many stores don't even carry them now. I have not been following the trends so I was a little surprised to find out how unpopular rollerblades have become. I have a theory. Hear me out. I think it if you follow the money you will see what happened to Rollerblades. I think that in-line skating was becoming so popular that it was becoming a threat to skateboard manufactures/resellers/anybody who makes money on skateboarding that they secretly went about getting people to believe rollerblades are gay in an effort to gain back their market share. Money is what makes this world go round, trust me on that one. Because, honestly, GAY, come on. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, seriously. Maybe there even are some gays that listen to the stereotype and ride rollerblades because they have been told that is what "gay" people do, nonetheless, I believe it all started with skateboard companies trying to take back their market share. It ALWAYS has to do with the money. So come on people, don't let them take something away from us, like rollerblading, that is fun and a good way to stay fit, just because we are being mindless pawns and not thinking for ourselves WAKE UP see what is going on around you, GET REAL for crying out loud!!!
