NONE of the old versions work. Have you downloaded the most recent version? I think they're also experiencing server problems as well.

yeah but they ain't gonna start buying the shit because you tell em to. i know some folks just be cold robbing artists and they ain't buying anything since it's free on the net - but that ain't me and i'm sure the majority of the folks in here buy their shit. not everybody abuses p2p programs like that. soulseek is some dope shit to exchange rare unavailable music and to sneak preview new shit that's coming out.

exactly. support underground hiphop by downloading music and finding out about hiphop you didn't know about.

Downloading music has turned me on to so many amazing artists I never would've found out about it. I always try to buy CDs after I've downloaded a couple tracks. A lot of people do this.

But yea, it's abused, but what isn't in this world?

File sharing shall live on forever. Smart musicians support these communities because it's one of the best marketing tools. Would Slug be as popular without programs like Soulseek and Kazaa?

shiiiet...i got into LL through filesharing and now i own almost every one of their releases. and i bet 90 % of the fans outside of california got to know them through the net. they chose it as a medium to spread their music...it's all about what you make out of it.

He's right, file sharing will never go away and it has become a part of our society today. If it wasn't for it, I probably wouldn't know a grip of artists that I know today which I'm thankful for. I think that artists just need to rely on the fact that if someone does download thier song and like it enough that they'll go out and buy the album to support them. I myself would rather buy and album and hear it the way it's supposed to be heard rather than burn a copy. Plus, you get all the liner notes and everything which makes it even doper in these days and times. I do hate on the people that take advantage of it but there's really nothing that anyone can do about it. All I can do is just give them the gasface. :p

Although, if it's a rare and hard to find album... I can understand why people would resort to it.
