Just a bit curious about this (hey this if the fucking hiero forum), Del sort of alludes to this in the 11th Hour DVD that the crew are rappers/run the label full time.
Anybody know if they are/aren't?

Yeah man, you've got to think about distribution, marketing, production of the cd's and royalty rights for the samples to name but a few things.

they do make $10 on every cd... $3 of that goes back into hieroglyphics business $7 goes to the artist... thats out of an $18 cd.. so $8 goes to distribution and all that.. on jive they would get $1 a cd.

Im homies with most of Hiero and some of them have side hustles and such but they make a pretty cool living off of music. Royalties from commercials and tour money for those cats is pretty damn good.
PEACE.

Im pretty sure they make like $7 for every cd sold. I remember Casual talking about that a while ago. Artists signed to labels, make about .75 cents per cd sold, seriously. Most of the money comes from touring, and selling merchandise, shirts, cds, etc. I know Del got hooked up from his track with Gorillaz for winning that music award. But $7 bucks for every cd, damn....thats straight cash in your pocket.
