Next year this will be 20 years old and in my view it's still incredible and ahead of it's time, this is still my favourite Hip Hop album of all time.
Rakim didn't rhyme about guns, hoes, all of his money, criminal activities or the other bullshit that passes for rap these days (well in the mainstream anyway)this man dropped science and knowledge and was a master at his craft, the production could easily stand up today and I'm sure Paul C had a lot to do with it and I know The R produced a lot of this album himself (even though Eric B took credit for it).
Public Enemy's-It Takes A Nation of...used to be my top album of all time, but I think some of it sounds too dated, Follow The Leader had a better flow and sound in my view.

dont get me wrong, i love that album. but folks seem to always talk about the days when rappers didnt talk about money and be on that egotistical shit. sorry to tell you, but thats been an element in rap since damn near day one.

okay what I meant was that it wasn't just all he rhymed about like say 50 cent or Dipset etc...yes they rocked gold chains back in those days and talked about money but it wasn't what their career's were based on, it was more about skills and creativity in those days...does that make shit clearer?
Pretty odd for you to tell me that I have never heard an image hosted by angelfire...we all have Verbal
