Dave Matthews Band....

I haven't heard much from any lab heads. What do you think? Like or dislike? I personally think the way they put their songs together is pretty much phenomanal(sp?)... i know the fanbase associated with the group is whiny emo modern day beatnik retards, but i love the music..... mucho talent.

Okay, i'll give you that the singer is weak, but WHAT?! You can't deny the guitar skills, and their sax player, violin player and bassist are all extremley talented...........

they're alright. some good stuff.. but yeah, his voice does get kinda annoying, but it's also kinda bugged out in a way. there was this one special where he was jammin with all these old broads like carly simon and emmylou harris, and he does have skills..this one song about diggin a hole or some shit..pretty tight.

Yeah... i have that. He did some shit w/Johhny Cash and Emmylou that was ill.... also, i have a disc of just some instrumental stuff of his thats good.... it's like a 60 minute jamm session, but they switch up the tempo/style consistantly and it's fresh.

I dunno... they're not my favorite or anything, but i was just curious as to what peeps though. I never saw it discussed......

Okay come on now... Papa Roach is just pathetic. That dude should have his vocal chords removed very painfully. And Jimmy Eats World is just as bad as any of the Emo garbage out there today. In fact they're on the forefront.

I HATE Dave Mathews. Sdub - you got it right, actually I think they're on par with Hootie, not better, not worse.
It's sad that, living in Seattle, I could live near any number of good musicians but I have to be just a couple of miles from Dave's house. I seriously CAN NOT STAND the guy's music.

i admit ikindalike that Crash song right up until he starts singin...they're good musicians, but like any other band (especially local bands) that i usually don't like, the singing just doesn't fly.....

Dave Matthews had a few good songs I thought.

Of course Crash, and there was one from that same album. I'm not sure the name of it but the lyrics got my attention.

"They say my hell is a closet and I'm stuck inside, can't see the light, and my heaven is a nice house in the sky, got central heating and..."

After analyzing it, I think the song is about the abuse of a child.
But that's my interpretation.

I think they're okay.

i can dig a lot of rock music...well, not a whole lot of the newer shit...BUT: i've always thought dave is gayer than aids. i've never seen him in concert, and that might change my mind, because i like live music, and i don't doubt he's a phenominal performer.

i've had friends who are way into it and when thay bump it i'm like "dude, cut this shit...", but you can't win 'em all.

i just flipped back to the last page and caught some of that, and just want to say something about hootie. i liked both of their cover songs - the beatles song & the zeplin song - they did them both well, i thought.

i like the beatles and i like zeplin, but fuck hootie and fuck dave.
