Thursday i am participated in a debate in my sociology class:
Hello everyone,
I meant to give you more information yesterday about the debate on Thursday but forgot. The topic for the debate is whether rap music or, more generally, black media like BET, contributes to violence or stereotyping. I'm going to email you your positions this weekend and, like before, expect you to bring your points and citations to class. This time I will make a decision about which team argued more convincingly and award them several bonus points.
I have some articles that may get you started. Skim through them, especially the introduction and conclusion, as a starting off point. Please be sure to look for other sources as well. This system only allows me to attach one article at a time, so I will be sending five emails in order for you to receive them all. You do not have to read all of them, but may find it helpful to glance at each one.
Prof. Greif
I was wondering if you guys had any particular rap songs in mind that might exemplify that not all rap is stereotypical. I havent listen to much music in over a year and i havent been into hip hop in general in over 2 years so i cant think of any now. I now Murs is on some shit. Comments info and advice are welcomed as well.;) :o
