The only promblem I have with Swollen Members is their production. Actually, the whole Battle Axe label has horrible production. Rob the Viking is straight garbage on the beats and it seems like everything that is put out on Battle Axe (with the exception of Ab Rude and the 1 Sunspot release) has his sound. I just want to take q-tips and pop my ear drums out when I hear his shit. They need to get Evidence to do ALL of their production and drop Rob.

You've obviously never given Balance a chance...or even a full listen...or a little track called "Sunburn"...or "Consumption"
After Bad Dreams...the shit started to get lame...I haven't heard the new album yet...but dont knock Balance...its a certified underground classic.:cool:

I actually owned balance. and that was when they were really gettin all the underground hype and i was like, "wheres the talent?" please dont throw around that underground classic term, too many kids just throwing that shit around, making it lose value. thats reserved for people who make good music.

if you've seen me throw that term around somewhere else on this board then you'd be right to say that...I honestly and truly believe that one is an underground classic...its no different than any other group in music history, who've released one hit wonders and are never heard from again...or great albums from the golden era of hip hop...that are considered classics...yet, they only ever released one album due to poor sales or creative differences with the industry...or...they just plain threw it away and tried crossing over with sell out sound...groups can release one great album...but remain on a decline with the rest to follow...as with SM...but hopefully they'll always be remembered in some circles for Balance.:cool:

They used to have some good cuts, but everything lately seems too pop. My homie and I saw them at the Xanth a long time ago and Prevail couldn't even remember his lyrics, meanwhile the music stops and my homie was yelling the rest of his line from the crowd and Prevail looked at him like "damn, this guy knows my shit and I don't?"

with moka only you have to filter through the 75 discs a year he releases and you can make a decent 13 track playlist, that kid needs to keep some of his shit in the lab so when he dies of an odd mixture of hep-diabetes-and trying to swallow to much swiss cheese, battle axe got enough to release a few "greatest b-side" collections
