I just heard the promo of this. From what I've heard I'm feelin it, especially since i was skeptical cause el p has been falling off lately (and he does most of the production). its short, only 11 tracks, and I need to listen to it again cause I've only listened to it once, but I'll buy it when it comes out. anyone else heard this?

I'm not trying to knock el p I'm actually a fan of his. but the beats hes been turning out lately (bazooka tooth, hells winter) have been pretty shitty. not to say that he isn't still talented, and im looking forward to his new album.

big fan of lif but hard for me to get excited about this album. like with most releases el-p is involved in,i would either love it or hate it

Step your game up and get the Cannibal Ox track "From The Planet of Eat". That beat is so raw.

el-p is garbage, we already confirmed that in a previous thread.

cage went from raw to homo quickly under el's producto. movies for the blind was a near classic and hells winter was on some nerd shit.

but yeah if i trust anyone to stick to their style it would be lif.

time will tell.

movies for the blind a classic??? come on man that shit was average at best, he was too much on that necro gore shit then. hells winter had some good beats but the shittiest ones on there were from producto. with that being said, lif's new album is very "elp sounding" but he still rips it.

Yeah i got that track, and that beat is raw. I've even heard a couple tracks off his upcoming lp "I'll Sleep When Your Dead" and I was definitley feeling what i heard. He always saves his best beats for himself.

nearly every def jux release to date would be enjoyable if el-p didn't even come close to producing a track. Nearly every track that he puts out doesn't hit with the artist or there isn't enough wack sound effects going on in the background

Ill vouch for the hells winter tracks even though I can't remember which ones he did. It was in my top 3 of 06 list easily.

But I don't expect him to deliver again but you never know.

I guess me and Sw are the only folks left on the El-P bandwagon.

Good Morning
The Death Of Chris Palko feat. Camu Tao
Perfect World
Subtle Art Of Breakup Song
Lord Have Mercy
Hell's Winter

Come on guys, those are some skillfully arranged tracks by Producto. Movies for the Blind was weak from start to finish and one of the biggest disappointments of that year. Hell's Winter was pure redemption. Cage finally realized the potential he showed during the Fondle 'Em days.

This "love an artist until he gets on Def Jux/El-P" sentiment is beyond tired.

movies for the blind was fucking terrible...apart from one or two tracks. hell's winter, considering that I hated anything Cage touched before, redeemed him in my book. it showed he could rap on varying subjects, even able to get personal. actually say something worthwhile. that shit revived his career. if he would've stayed on the same, cliched murder and drugs steeze he was on before, no one would've listened to that shit. just my opinion.

Agreed. Makes me wonder if there are any other rappers out there with a story to tell, yet rely on gimmick.

due to soulseek there is no longer a need to buy "mo mega". i downloaded the promo version, listened to it twice, and then immediatley added it to the recycable bin. it sounded terrible, the worst i have heard from mr.lif. i blame it mainly on el-p tho, i am a fan of his, but these beats suck. mr.lif in my opinion has always sounded better over fakts one beats tho, el p and him don't mix in my book.

that aint really him though. movies for the blind was raw shit with beats that would thump the whole neighborhood. hells winter is just a hard emcee tryin to turn into an aesop rock or some shit.

I don't know how you could say "thats not really him." You heard him rap about that "raw" shit on one album and claim thats really him? I highly doubt "that was him" doing all that shit he rapped about on movies. All I'm saying is you gotta take it as progression from him for doing something different. also, he can't be trying to turn into an aesop rock, bc he actually makes sense.

Movies for the blind was definetly more engaging than hells winter, but for real though i can't feel Cage much (even with el-p production, ya see kid!).Any ways t.h. don't act like you proved anything just by sticking a cd up your ass. That seriously doesn't prove a point at all (el-p thread remark of course).
I'm psyched about Mo'Mega. Lif's gonna blow some minds with this ill ass ish. Folks that don't know (and never will) on politically, worldy, universal struggles are gonna sleep, but they always have. Too many mtv dreams of pimping their bling and selfish perversions of exhaust pipe dreams. That mula ya'll....suryaright!
