Not usually a fan of the horrorcore, dip smoking, woman killing raps of Cage, but this cd actually looks like it will be good. Production by Camu Tao, El-P, RJD2, DJ Shadow and some others. I hear he's cleaned up a bit for this cd, but there's still ample amount of ridiculous swearing.

Plus, I've heard a snippet of the beat from "Lord Have Mercy" on this cd that was produced by El-P and I just might have to revoke my earlier statement about Big Juss being more "Co Flow" than El, but we'll see.

Anyways, what think ye?

ive never been a huge Cage fan, but after hearing this album, ill go ahead and claim fandom. id say its due mostly to the production, but all in all its a nice piece of work. shoot frank prod by rjd2 and featuring the singer of glassjaw is perfection.

I'd have to throw some co-signage down on this one too. It's mainly the beats I'm into. And I can't say I honestly like what Cage raps about, but I like where he places his rhymes and syllables. I think I just like his rhyme style, minus the content, if that's possible. It's not what he says that's cool, it's how he chooses to say it and when it lands on the beat.

always been a cage fan even of more hardcore albums like "movies for the blind" but like how he mellowed out on this album. gives the album a better overall sound. shoot frank, scenester, and perfect world are my favorite tracks so far

I actually liked some of the Leak Bros stuff even though it was pretty hardcore.

FirstDegree, do you actually have this cd already?

^Awww....you mad or what? :(

I've had the promo for a while, Cage's voice annoys me but the production is pretty good. Never really gave it more than one listen but I'll give it another try. I actually like some of the Leak Brothers shit, just kinda funny.

im not a fan of cage. hes had good tracks but overall, its not my bag. i was just checking out the tracklisting and he has a track with Jello Biafra!!!! thats insta-props in my book.

anyone tell me what the deal with that track is? lately, jello's been on the ultra-liberal spoken word tip so if anyones heard this and can save me the trouble of trying to steal it, much appreciated

ok after first listen i'm a little dissapointed. yall hyped this up a lot and i expected a lot. i'm feelin "public property" but in general, the cd sounds a little too defjuxish. and that could be a good thing if it was the def jux 5 years ago. or even 3 or 4 years ago. but the def jux of today is pretty much wack. this cd might grow on me, but as of right now, i think movies for the blind shitted on hells winter.

movies for the blind

That's right there with Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em as one of the most disappointing albums I ever bought. I wanna hear Hell's Winter, but because of that I won't pay for it first.

Speaking of, did anyone see the new SciFen clothing ad in the latest Elemental? Cage is wearing one of Scifen's shirts, whoever Scifen is, and he looks like he should be in an emo band with his new hairdo. He's got kinda long, straight black hair and he lost some weight.

and if you read cage's latest interview on hiphopsite.com he talks about his image and how he was tired of having to fit that certain image to be hip-hop. hence his new look....dope interview though, check it out of anybody is interested

the new cage is very very nice. The jello biafra song was worth the price of admission. I loved the album. The song with aesrock, el-p, and tame is hard. Would listen to this over a blackalicious or lyrics born album anyday of the week.
