It's not a new technique on sampling, it's a new technique as in producing as a whole. There's a difference between just making beats and making music, Quik has been making dope music for so long. So many tracks on his albums (before this one) really aren't even samples. He uses a lot of funky shit that no one even messes with except for Dr. Dre. Seeing is how I'm working on becoming a producer, I listen to albums a lot for the music and then the lyrics. Just the way he arranges his sounds, cleans em' up and just polishes the whole thing makes him one of the top notch producers. He's been making dope music for years and so he took a new approach to making music and just basically put out some quality shit, it's not a 10/10, fuck that, yeah give someone a 10/10 on a half ass album that won't get any play next year. This album just flows so good and there's so many tracks that I could see people listening to years down the road. Not just some bullshit "single" that grabs your attention. That's why I say it gets a 10/10
