Anbody else diggin him? The first LP was fucking genius. He's got a new one out under the name of Savath and Savalas, and another Prefuse 73 album scheduled for release May 6 (same day as the new Prince Paul!). I'm curious if anybody has heard it yet- and if anybody is going to the show in SF at Bimbos this Saturday. None of my friends are up on him and they all think they're too good (actually, too broke) to go see him...

I feel his beats ALOT. Vocal Studies.... was hot. Mad original. And when it dropped, i'd say it was a few years ahead of it's time. That joint w/Doom and Aes Rock is a banger. But his instrumental-chopped up-flavor is the best.

What will he do live? A DJ set or some live PA shit or what? I'm curious.

Word though, i'll have to check that new shit.

Ya, he's ill. I'm curious as to how that live set would be as well. Ipatch, post the show info.

I'll be on the lookout for the new joint too.

i saw him last oct at bimbos as well.. he opened up for Tobin Anon... most of his set came from vocal studies and estrocaro...
word to "black list" (tha one with rock and doom) Life/Death is also fresh...(with mikah 9)
i like Herren as Savath and Savalas... (more ambiet rock)
also goes by Delarosa and Asora... (turntable dynamics.. as he scratches his itch.. ) (recomend: agony pt1)

I picked up the new Savath and Savalas 10" and it's amazing. I'm VERY curious to hear what homeboy's turntablism sets are all about. With his style on Vocal Narratives... I was wondering if he was all digital, with all the edits and such.

Man, this is frustrating. My roommate said he might be down to go but made it clear I'd be twisting his arm. I'd feel bad about talking his broke ass into driving 100 miles each way just to see an opening act. I might just say fuck it and take Amtrak up Saturday, go to the show lone wolf style and spit game at the doped up raver girls...

Here's the info for his headlining tour this spring;

archer, do you mean Amon Tobin or do you really mean Tobin Anon? There was something in a magazine where amon tobin was somewhat clowning prefuse73's style. it was funny. that vocal studies album was pretty cool, but i wasn't moved enough to listen to the whole thing a lot. i actually like the original click-track version of that mikah9 song better as well. his voice just kills it alone.

haha that's cool. man Pirhana Breaks is NO JOKE. All of his work is pretty sick, even the old Adventures in Foam album when his name was Cujo. Oh how I wish I had the set of 10"es that that album was released as. I think Permutation is still my favorite though. That guy is a sampling MASTER.
