or anyone really, but I think UG may enjoy these guys more than most of you.
Anyway, UG, have you heard Lightning Bolt? I guess its just a bass and drum duo (I read that in a review, but I think I hear guitar on the album, anyway, doesnt matter). These guys seriously "kick ass". If you havent heard them I def recommend checking them out. Any Dillingers Escape Plan fan would dig these guys.

I've got Ride the Skies and Wonderful Rainbow. You prolly won't believe this but I have a hard time getting into this band. It stems from a personal peeve of mine; bands, especially duos, with only two instruments. Hardpressed to find a band that could pull off such an approach without sounding like something's missing. Ruins were the only band, IMO, to pull it off, and that was just their early stuff. Call me old fashioned but I'm primarily a fan of bass, drums and at least one guitar, regardless of genre.
I tried really hard to like Lightning Bolt, since they DO have a bunch of creative energy, and I'm sure I'd enjoy their live shows. I may go back to those albums to see if I missed anything, but I doubt there will be an epiphany.

I hear ya. I didnt like Ride the Skies when I first heard it so I kinda wrote them off previously. But I just got Wonderful Rainbow the other day and I'm loving it so know I'm all stoked on these guys. I know what you mean about the duo thing though. but Lightning Bolt sounds nice a full to me. I've heard theyre pretty good live. I dont think theyll be playing in my neck of the woods anytime soon though.
