FINALLY!!!......i got the entire Log Cabin album, which,i must say,is one of the most amazing pieces of work to come my way in years.
True Human Hip Hop. It pays respect to all the roads crossed before their time, while giving it a new lease on life,it truly is a Full-Circle album. So much so,actually, that they(SOMEONE?!) decided to use a sample from one of the most influential musical groups to ever grace the Earth...The Residents. Ever heard of em...maybe. Heard em though...i doubt it.
(Even though theyre technically credited with inventing the music video, were the 1st group to release a consumer-based 4track recording, the 1st to use a sampler for an album release,he 1st to release a Midi home-recording,the 1st to release an interactive CDROM for mass production.....AND,perhaps the most important breakthrough of them all...the 1st band to own and work completely under their own record label.)
the chorus of track 6 "Metrignome",is based on the direct sample of the Residents theme song from "VilenessFats",which actually is the 1st ever music video creation.......
its kind of a small thing...shit....i may even be wrong.
but to hear artists such as the Living Legends paying respect (or so i think) to one of the bands that helped shape "American" music as we know it today....all the while staying true, staying with it,and staying behind the scenes...like so many musical groups we've all grown to love for integrity's sake alone.
i donty expect any response from this by the way...but thanx fer reading. Keep it real..

oh yeah...i forgot to mention...as far as i know, the Legends are the ONLY hip hop group to even grace the razorsharp edge that is the music of the Residents, which,in my eyes is a huge step, seeing how the Residents have done ALOT for musical progression, yet have benn COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS for over 30 years.....INTEGRITY AT ITS BEST.
