my brother gave me a leaked copy. i BELIEVE it drops in feb.
fans need to cop this! shit is raw...
5 tracks, 84 minutes..... track 5 is 32 minutes long.
really artsy but dope as fuck.
the sound quality is bad, but it would have to be much worse to make me not listen to it. i cant wait till the real version comes out.
i got the chance to chill for a short amount of time with the guitarist a while back and hes a cool dude.

i heard tickets to their shows in the city now have been sold to some hipsters for as much as 200 bucks!
if you know about how they get distributed and how little press theyve had, you know their fans are loyal as feezy.

I can't wait for this shit. I bump Deloused in the Comatorium almost every day. I saw them earlier this year with A Perfect Circle and the Volta showed APC up big time....

Yeah, its definitely a good album. nice use of horns throughout the album. im from their hometown. i went to highschool with the guitarists (omar) brothers. i was never really into at the drive in but mars volta is something different and enjoyable to me atleast.

The "heaviness" of the guitars was taken way out of the mix, even though I doubt that was the intent. A little tinny, if you ask me. The keys got buried as well. I realize that great songs are still great no matter how they're recorded, but that album could've been a classic if Rubin did a better job of tracking the instruments. Who did they get to record Frances the Mute?

I didnt like the vocals either. I liked Cedrics singing style much better with ATDI. He still has great lyrics but this new Geddy Lee he's going for bugs me for some reason.

Rick Ruben prevented an album from being a classic? Ill have to give it a re-listen and taking away the heaviness of the guitar would usually sound like a good thing to me. but thinking rick rubin prevented a classic from being made seems odd.
thats all :)

It may have not been Ricks fault. But I agree that the album is not the classic that it could have been. Its very good, the drum/bass playing is outstanding. I actually think the guitars are fine. The keys were barried and that took away from the songs IMO. My big gripe is the vocals... but I dont think Rick Rubin said "hey, try that again but sing like Geddy Lee this time" so I cant really blame Rubin for that. Its got moments of brilliance, but overall the album wasnt strong.

No. I'm talking about DeLoused. I havent heard the new one. I'm eagerly awaiting it. TMV are one of my favorite rock bands out right now. So I'm not trying to shit on them.
