Woah, can't believe I actually came to this new lab - miss the old format already...
Anyway, thanks to those who told me to pick up that MF Grimm album - shit is SUWEET! "Life and Death" and "Freedom" and "Voices" are my top songs right now, and "Together" is so damn raw! I sure hope he's able to drop another banger from prison (or gets out soon - anyone know much about his incarceration?).

I just hope he doesn't make like XRaided and spit an entire album over the jail phone. That shit was wiggity.

I think femalefun's site has an interview w/him pertaining to his lock-down.

Yeah, doing the lyrics over the phone lines would be dumb - lose all vocal clarity. I dunno, sometimes TV crews can go into prison with a bunch of equipment to interview someone who's incarcerated - maybe they can take in a small digi recorder with a mic to get the lyrics? They can say it has to do with his rehabilitation or something like that...

i think being able to see his writing made it more personal. he has drive, desire like few others. how long is he in jail for?

I just read that he's trying to get out this year. Previously he was hoping 2004, but now he's pushing for '03, so things must be looking up for him somehow.

Conspiracy of Narcotics I believe. They tried to get him on attempted murder. From what I read I'm thinking he was involved in a sting operation. He was a seller, undercover was trying to make a buy, UC's cover got blown, Grimm pulled a gun to shoot the UC but got downed before he could get a shot off. That's what it sounds like from everything I've read.

Then you can expect 2 more releases before the year is out. Grimm will start recording within the next few months, he will definitely be out and not in a prison studio. You will also hear a lot of his own production as well as production from other Day By Day producers. Thanks for the support!

Good to hear about Scars and Memories... found a used copy of the Bloody Love Letter/Do It For The Kids 12" hidden away in some raver shop a month ago and it was just as ill as anything on Ibilys... and DOPE beats from Rob Swift too.
