I somewhat know about them, Saafir started it up, and Im pretty sure the whoridas are in it, and eyecue.
But whats up with them? I seen them getting mad shout outs in linear notes and even on actual songs by the legends, hiero, and other groups, I know saafir has an old school album from 94?, one he released in 2000, that I copped and returned because it was pretty bad. I got the whoridas debut album which is real good. But yet another purchase and return with their second album with all the weed plants all over the cover (crap). Who else is in the crew, and why havent they ever become an underground powerhouse like the legends or hiero, who has the story?

i dont know what happend to those cats...the last album i heard from them was "the cleaners"...and about a year ago i seen eyecue up in santa cruz slangn his cd in front of a grouch show...i picked it up but wasnt to happy with it...
...to me the junction is more of the home town hero type...maybe thats why they never blew up...definetly some classick bay shit though...
...have you heard dj sergs mixtape.. has alot of classic bay area shit..like rasco, charizma, asia, encore, hobo even got a cut on there...
...its a dope cd
you should check out both Saafir's "Boxcar Sessions" and "Trignometry (under the alias Mr. Nono)"....oh and if you can find it unreleased boxcar sessions
The Black Label from Hobo Junction is waay dope
Eyecue's solo is cool, but we had some single from him and rashinel that was pretty tight...hopefully their new stuff will sound like that single
i'd love to see another whole crew album but with all bangers...the cleaners was cool but i know they got more in em......
let's hope saafir drops another one soon...his last one wasn't all that good, but even Saafir sounds good at his worst.......just as long as he keeps the singing out of the mix!

I thought I heard somewhere that they were gonna be re-releasing The Black Label and some other older joints soon.
I was kinda disappointed in some of the newer stuff I've heard from the crew, but The Black Label and The Cleaners are classics.

Not to me, I love those joints, especially The Cleaners. I like it more and more every time I listen to it. The production kinda snuck up on me because it's so grimey and sounds simple, but then there's some nice change ups in a lot of those beats.

theyre classic west coast underground hiphop tapes from the 90's. I thinks thats fair to say. theyre not like classic in "this will go down in history as being some of the finest music ever recorded" way, but theyre classics in a sense.
