First off I haven't heard that much production that sounds like Zion I's. But what's you definition of a "mainstream" beat? Zion I's beats have a strong melody with heavy rhythm. These days it seems like half the underground producers make music you can't move too. It's unfortunate that rhythm-centric production is see by some underground fans as "mainstream" sounding. It's really funny!

Big ups to Zion-I and the other producers who produce beats you can move your head too! They're combining concious/thought provoking lyrics with danceable music. I want more of that. Which reminds me, the new Grouch is the best he's done musically. Big ups to the Grouch as well.

I still disagree that their beats sound "mainstream" though. I haven't heard production like Zion I's in the mainstream.
